Here goes my first imagine! Let me know what you think! 1200+ words!
---
"Geno!" You yell as you run through the hallway next to the Penguins locker room after their game, into your friend's arms."Hey (Y/N)!" Geno says as he embraces you happily, freshly showered. "Sid coming," he says in his broken english and strong Russian accent after he lets me go. "He showering. Come out soon."
"Thanks Geno," you respond happily. "Congrats on the win!" You say as he walks past you out to his car. The Penguins just finished a near the end of the regular season game, beating the New York Rangers 5-0. You came to the game to watch some of your best friends, the Pens, shut out the Rangers.
You met Sidney at a charity skate and you two just clicked. He asked for your number that day and later that week you went on your first date. You have gotten really close to a lot of the other guys on the team too but Sid will always be your favorite. Three months later, here you are; waiting for Sid, your boyfriend, to come out of the Pens' locker room.
A bunch of the guys leave and Tanger and Sid are the last ones left. "Hey (Y/N)," Tanger says as he passes you in the hallway. "Sid is the only one in there so you can go on in."
"Thanks Kris," you respond to him as he heads out of the building. You open the locker room door and head inside. "Sid?" You ask loudly when you don't see him immediately.
You don't hear an answer so you search around the locker room. You check the workout room and follow with the showers and the equipment room. You finally reach the trainers room and find Sid sitting on the table, head phones on, having his knee checked out by the trainer. Sid sees you walk in and pulls off his headphones.
"Hey (Y/N), sorry I'll be done in a few minutes. I just twisted my knee funny in the game and I wanted him to check out my knee to make sure it's not serious," Sid says as he nods towards Chris Stewart, the team's head athletic trainer.
"Yeah sure. Can I stay?" I ask motioning to the other bench in the room.
"Yeah of course," Sid responds smiling.
"Nice game tonight," you compliment.
"Thanks," he says wincing as Chris moves his knee.
"How bad does this hurt?" He asks.
"It's handleable," Sid says.
"Is it playable though?" Chris asks changing the answer that he wants.
"Probably not now but in a few days it should be," Sid tries to reason, trying to convince Chris that he can still play.
"Okay. I think it's just strained. Just rest. No practice tomorrow and ice, 20 minutes on 20 off. Keep it elevated," Chris explains, a look on his face that reads to do exactly what he says. "Don't do anything stupid Sid. I don't want you sitting out any games."
"Yes Chris," Sid responds listening diligently. "Am I free to go?" He asks Chris.
"Yeah just take it easy," Chris says waving him off.
"Of course," Sid says, wincing a little when he stands up putting his entire weight on his knee. "You ready to go?" He asks you as he walks towards the door to the locker room, his hands tying up his phone and earbuds.
"Yeah," you respond as you hop off the other training table, following Sid after saying goodbye to Chris. Sid finishes grabbing his stuff and puts on his suit jacket.
"Let's go," he says putting his hand on your lower back, ushering you out of the locker room. Because a friend drove you to the game, you head to Sidney's car with him. He pulls out his keys and unlocks the doors. You both climb inside and buckle your seat belts. He turns on the sports radio channel and lowers the volume to where you can hear it when you don't talk but you can also talk normally and be able to hear each other. Once you are on the highway he smiles and comments, "I loved your cheering tonight by the way. The jersey was a nice touch."
"Thank you," you respond looking down at your signed Crosby jersey, blue jeans and black army boots. "I didn't know you can see me in the crowds of people."
"I can spot you anywhere (Y/N)," Sid says as he pulls into his driveway. You blush as you both get out of his car and walk up the drive to his front door. "I scored those two goals tonight for you by the way," he says, unlocking his front door and letting you in before himself, always the gentleman.
"Thank you," you smile happily. "Now go upstairs and change and then sit down on the couch. I'm going to get you a bag of ice to put on that knee of yours," you say as you put down your purse on the kitchen counter and head towards his freezer. You hear Sidney walk upstairs, change quickly and then walk into the living room and sit down on the couch. You grab a bag of frozen peas out of the freezer because somehow he always has a bag of them there for things like this. You grab a kitchen towel and wrap it around the makeshift icepack so it's not too cold. You walk into the living room and see Sid sitting on the couch, legs spread apart putting on the sports network. "Sid babe," you say walking over to him, seeing him in his Pens sweatshirt and black exercise shorts. "You need to elevate your knee." You grab his leg, careful of his knee, and turn him so that he lays sideways on the couch. You sit down and lift his legs so they are on top of your lap. You put the bag of ice on his knee and rest your other hand on his exposed calves.
After a few hours of you icing his knee for him and watching a movie and a half on Netflix, he pauses it and speaks, "I love you (Y/N)." You lock eyes with him and your mouth drops a little bit. "I know it hasn't been that long since we started dating but I am in love with you. From the way you help me when I'm injured to dealing with my terrible schedule. You make everything worth it. Thank you," he says spilling his heart out to you.
"I love you too," you say, tears brimming your eyes at his confession. You move his legs off of your lap and stand up off the couch. You then get back on the couch but this time straddling him. You kiss him, slowly but passionately. Your hands rest on his lower chest and his hands rest on your hips. You pull away to breathe but rest your foreheads on each others.
Your eyes lock and you know that this relationship will last.
