Hey guys!! I'm so sorry it took this long to get my next imagine out. I have been soooo busy with college and work and everything else. But, I'm now done with my first year of college! So anyways, here is an Avs imagine, finally. Nate my boy, love ya, cutie. 1600+ words for @kardelisa9022 (also sorry cause it took like literally a year for me to upload this)

"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. You know how much I want to be there but you know I can't," Nathan says to me, explaining why he can't come to my competition. "You know I have a job that I can't just up and leave, crossing the state, whenever I want to. I love you, I really do and I wish I could be there for this amazing opportunity in your life but I can't... and I'm so sorry for that."

"I know. I just wish you could be here with me," I sigh. "It sucks that you aren't gonna be here," I say quietly.

"I know babe, I am too. But I promise I will make it up to you okay?"

"Okay," I say sadly as I wipe a tear away from my face.

"Hey Y/N! Let's hit this slope!" Andy yells to me. I hold up my finger to say to give me a minute.

"I gotta go train babe. I love you," I say into the phone.

"I love you too babe. Talk to you soon," Nate says before he hangs up.

I wipe a few tears from my face before putting my phone in my pocket and putting my goggles back on to go down the slope. "Hey girl, you alright?" Andy asks me as I put my boot in the strap on my snowboard.

"Yeah I'm okay. Nate just called to tell me that he can't make it to see me in the X-games this week," I respond as we get ready to head down the slope.

"Awe Y/N, I'm sorry," she says, pushing her goggles back up above her eyes. "But don't worry. I know if he could be there he would be. And if he's not gonna be there, then us girls will keep you company and make sure you enjoy it. Believe me this is an amazing opportunity and even if Nate can't be here, you're still going to have a ton of fun. Okay?" Andy assures me.

"Okay. Thank you," I respond with a small smile. We ride down the slope and stop our practice to grab a quick lunch before heading back out.

The next night, you and all the girls sit in the cabin's living room watching the Avalanche kick ass against the Dallas Stars, increasing their chances of a playoff spot. Nate has already scored two goals so far in this game; the first he scored as a tip-in, and the second he scored on a breakaway. Now, the time is winding down at the end of the third period, less than two minutes remaining on the clock and the Avs lead 3-1; the stars pulled their goalie resulting in six skaters on the ice.

"And off goes MacKinnon from a pass from Landeskog. He races down the ice, no stars can keep up with him. He skates down in front of the goal, shoots, and SCORES! NATHAN MACKINNON WITH A HAT TRICK AT HOME!" the announcer shouts as I jump out of my seat.

"Yes baby!" I cheer, clapping my hands with a proud smile on my face.

"Oh my god that was awesome!" one of the other girls yells.

"That's my boy," I say happily.

"And that's the game! The Colorado Avalanche trample the Dallas Stars, 4-1, with a hat trick from Nathan MacKinnon. The three stars of the game are third, Gabe Landeskog, second, Tyson Barrie, and first star of the game, Nathan MacKinnon!" the announcer comments on the tv.

"Okay everybody! Bedtime!" our coach commands as he gets up off the couch. "You guys have to be rested for the events tomorrow," he reminds us.

Andy grabs my hand and leads me to our shared room and we get ready for bed. As we lay in bed doing our nightly routine of checking all of our social media accounts before bed, Nate calls me.
