Levi

Lucas's POV

How could I be so stupid. That was a close one. I can't stay here, what if she figures out she wasn't hallucinating and starts asking questions? She can't find out. It will put her in danger.

I left her house after she went upstairs and was on my way back to my house and I heard a noise coming from behind me.

"Who's there?"

No answer. Maybe I'm just hearing things. I need to calm down, I'm driving myself crazy.

I kept walking till I reached my house, went inside and went straight to sleep.

THE NEXT DAY

Maya's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm dreading having to go to school today. "Ugh I don't want to go to school!" I said to myself. I got out of bed and picked out my outfit for today. I put a hat on so that I could hide my face in a casual way because my dad hit me so hard it left a bruise on my cheek. I ate some breakfast, brushed my teeth and put a little makeup on trying my best to hide the bruise, but it didn't really help.

"Bye house!" I said to my empty home and left to go to Riley's. Hopefully she doesn't ask questions, I can't tell her about what my dad does to me and my mom. I haven't even seen my mom in 2 days. She's been at work this whole time. It's pretty much just me living in this house.

TIME SKIP TO RILEY'S

I hit the button on the intercom to let the Matthews know I'm here.

"Sup losers, it's Maya"

Riley buzzed me in and I made my way up to their apartment.

"Hey Riles, ready to go?"

"Yep! Bye mom, see you in a little bit dad!" Riley called to her parents as we headed to the subway.

AT SCHOOL

Zay's POV.

I was casually talking to a cheerleader, trying to get her number when I saw something run across the room really quickly. There is only one explanation for someone running that fast. Is he stupid for doing that here? I told the cheerleader I needed to go and slipped her my number and walked towards the direction of the person.

"Lucas?" I said walking in the room. But that is definitely not Lucas.

"Levi?" I said with wide eyes. I tried to run back out of the room, but he got in front of me before I could.

"Did you think you guys could have really hid from us for that long?" He said pinning me up against the wall choking me. "GIVE ME THE STONE!"

I was about to run out of air when I heard the door fly open and Levi got pinned down on the ground.

"Hello Lucas." Levi said.

"Levi, how did you find us?" Lucas said getting angrier by the second

"Really? You guys ran off to New York. One of the most popular states in the country, how could it not be easy to find you?"

"I thought it'd be pretty hard!" I said

"SHUT UP!" Levi and Lucas both yelled at me

"If it was so easy to find us then why did it take you 2 years?" I questioned

"Well I had a little business I had to take care of in Texas first." He said.

"What did you do!" Lucas asked getting mad.

"It's not your business anymore." He said smirking.

"How did you find exactly where we were?"

"Well it wasn't easy at first, we searched a few places, but then we saw a certain someone's name on the contest list for the Austin Rodeo Roundup bull riding tournament. We thought no he couldn't possibly be so stupid as to put his name on that list. But it was in fact Lucas Friar, same age, same face. So we asked a few questions to the owner and he had no problem telling us where you live."

"That's impossible, I never signed up for a bull riding tournament." Lucas retorted

"Oh well someone did." He was saying but then we all heard the door open and turned towards it.

"Riley, Maya what are you guys doing in here?" I asked them.

"We should be asking you guys the same thing." Maya said. "Lucas why are you on the ground?"

Lucas and I both turned around going to look at Levi but he was gone. We both stared at each other with this look on our faces that clearly read 'oh shit'.

We both got up and walked out the door with Riley and Maya leading the way.

LUNCH

Maya's POV

Riley, Lucas, Zay and I all went to go meet with Farkle at the cafeteria to tell everyone about the trip to Texas that Riley and I planned.

"Hey guys." Farkle said as he sat down at the lunch table. "What did you guys want to talk about?"

"Well since today is the last day of school before our week break, Riley and I thought we could all take a trip!" I said enthusiastically.

I glanced at everyone and saw Zay and Lucas look at each other with weird looks on their faces. They looked....worried?

"Sounds great!" Farkle said.

"Where are we taking a trip to." Lucas asked seriously.

"Texas! And a certain someone at this table has been entered into a contest!" Riley said

"Who?" Lucas said still tense.

"You" I answered with a smirk on my face.

"WHAT?!" Lucas and Zay said standing up from the table.

"Relax it's just a bull! Man up Sundance!" I said jokingly.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!" Lucas said yelling getting really angry with us. I don't understand, I thought he would be happy.

"Lucas. Calm down." Riley said to him

"Sorry." Lucas said then him and Zay sat down again.

"Yeah, what did we do to get yelled at?" I said questioning the little tantrum he just threw.

Lucas's POV

"Yeah what did we do to get yelled at?" Maya said questioning my actions a minute ago.

You have no idea. I thought to myself. I stared at her thinking of what to say and noticed a dark-ish blue spot on her cheek that she tried to cover up, I didn't say anything because it was probably from her dad hitting her.

"I'm sorry guys, but Zay and I are not going" I told them. One, everyone that is after us are in Texas and two, if more people get hurt I don't know how Zay and I will be able to handle it.

"Too late Cowboy we already signed you up. Here's the flyer" Maya said handing me a piece of paper. The paper had my full name on it with the contest name in big letters across the top.

So that's how Levi found us...

I glanced at Zay to see that he was already looking at the flyer with his eyes practically falling out of his head.

"Great. Just great." Zay said.

"Yeah, just great."

"Alright so that settles it! We're going to Texas!" Riley said.

"Yeah..." Zay and I said simultaneously while looking at each other.

"We fly out tomorrow. All of us are going to meet at Riley's so Mr. Matthews can drive us to the airport. Be at Riley's by 12:00 sharp, we can't miss the flight." Maya informed everyone

BELL RINGS

"See you guys tomorrow"

Then we all went to the rest of our classes. I hope nothing bad happens in Texas. How much could go wrong right?
