The Search

NEXT DAY

Maya's POV.

I fluttered my eyes open to see Zay and Farkle passed out on the couch and then I look a little bit around the room and see Riley passed out on the chair.

"Guys" I said while standing up and shaking Riley to wake her up.

"Riley!" I yelled into her ear and she jolted awake, falling off of the chair.

"I'm up! I'm up!"

"We all fell asleep last night. You wake up the guys and I'll go look in Lucas's room to see if he's there" I said to her while exiting the room. A couple minutes later I got to his room.

"Lucas?" I said while knocking on the door.

"Lucas?" I said while knocking again, but there was no answer.

"Alright, I hope you're decent if you're in there, because I'm coming in" I said while barging through the door but to my surprise he wasn't there.

"Guys he's not here," I said while running back into the room with a hint of worry in my voice.

"Just great" Zay mumbled.

"Does anyone have the slightest idea where Lucas would go or who would take him?" Farkle questioned.

"I bet that it's the Phoenixes. They probably took him to trade for the stone." Zay answered.

"Well then let's go get him." I said while grabbing a jacket and heading towards the door.

"Fine, but we all need to keep track of Riley at all times because if the Phoenixes get her and the stone we are all doomed. She is like one of the last pieces of a puzzle that we can't have finished."

"Zay, why am I so important?" Riley said joining the conversation.

"I don't think you are ready to hear that." Zay responded

"Zay, I think if I can handle you and Lucas being vampires I can certainly handle whatever it is you are about to tell me."

"Well do you all remember how I told you about those vampires the Phoenixes?" We all nodded "When myself, Lucas, and Jessica were listening in on a conversation they were having, they were talking about this plan to take the Blood Stone and use it for something bad but they needed a witch for it. Which is you Riley, but before they could do anything bad we stole the stone."

"But that doesn't completely answer my question Zay. How would they even know who I am and that I'm a witch if you and I didn't even know each other let alone that I am a witch?"

"You see" Zay started while going over to this self full with books and pulled one out. "As I said before you come from a long line of Matthew witches. They are the ones that created some of the most powerful stones. Including the Blood Stone which is the one Lucas and I took. Basically all vampires, witches, and many others know about the Matthews family. That's why the Phoenixes are after us, a Matthews witch is the key to unlocking the spell of the stone."

"Wow."

"Yeah... So as long as they don't find out that you know about your family past and what you are, you should be safe."

"Ok, so they need Riley to do some kind of crazy Ju-Ju for their plan that we know nothing about?" I said to Zay, to clarify what was going on.

"Basically, and I think I might know where they could have Lucas."

"Where?" I asked.

"Just come on" Zay said while walking out the door and all of us following behind him.
