EARLY THE NEXT DAY
Maya's POV.
"Alright Maya, now that you're a vampire you need to learn how to feed on animals so you don't hurt anyone" Zay said to me as we walked into the woods near the house.
"That's disgusting. What animals do you even eat?" I asked included with a disgusted look on my face.
"Well my favorite is puppy blood but that's just me" Zay responded with a slight smile.
"Shut up" I chuckled as I lightly punched his shoulder.
"Alright alright, I usually go after squirrels or bunny's".
"Ok, let's get this over with".
AT THE PHOENIXES HOUSE
Enzo's POV
"So, now that we have all slept on it how are we going to get everything we need for this plan to work?" I said as I waltzed into the room where my family was all sitting.
"Well, the witch shouldn't be too hard to get now that she doesn't have blonde and freak face Friar protecting her." Reina responded.
"And what about all the 'volunteers'?" Levi said making quotations with his hands for the word volunteers.
"Well we can raid prisons and bars to get the right people for the job" Tiff answered as I sat down.
"Well then I guess we've got this all figured out" I said with a smirk.
Maya's POV
"Zay, how much more of this chasing do we need to do? I'm tired, hungry and bored" I whined as I sat down on a fallen tree.
"Well, you've been able to catch things easy but can you handle drinking from an animal?" Zay answered sitting next to me.
"Piece of cake" I said and then at the speed of light I jumped off of the log and zoomed through many trees, Zay close behind me, until I caught a bunny.
"Caught one" I said proudly.
"Great. Now drink" Zay said while crossing his arms across his chest.
"Oh...uh yeah".
I stared at the poor defenseless bunny in my clutches and, hesitantly, I slowly lowered my fanged mouth to the bunny and bit down hard until I tasted the blood. I drank until I felt, what I thought was satisfied, then I dropped the bunny to the ground.
"See, like I said a piece of-" My sentence was interrupted by the blood I had just swallowed coming back out of my body forcing me to cough all of it back up unwillingly. I fell to the ground out of weakness and I couldn't get back up.
"Woah Maya are you alright? What happened?" Zay said worriedly.
"I have no clue. I felt fine and then all of a sudden my body rejected the blood and made me throw it back up".
"Why don't we get you back to the house. Maybe Pappy Joe can help" Zay said as he helped me up and began to walk me back to the house.
BACK AT THE HOUSE
"Pappy Joe, Maya and I need your help." Zay said.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Okay, so Maya and I were hunting rabbits so that she can get used to drinking that instead of humans and it was going all well, until Maya threw up the blood..." Zay explained.
"Hm... that's strange. Here Maya come sit down." Pappy Joe told me. I sat down on the couch and waited for an explanation on why this is happening.
"What's going on?" Riley asks, while her and Farkle walked into the room.
"I'm not sure. I wasn't able to take down the animal blood. And I'm starving!" I all of a sudden got this rush of feeling, and felt my eyes start to pulse.
"Darling, calm down, breathe." Pappy Joe told me, I started to breathe and close my eyes and calmed down a little. "Here try this," he said handing me a blood bag. I started to drink it and it seemed like it was all fine until I spit that up too.
"Interesting..." Pappy Joe stated.
"What?" I asked.
"Okay, one of you, can we try her drinking straight from you?" Pappy Joe pointed to Farkle and Riley.
"Sur-" Riley was saying when Farkle interrupted her.
"No Riley, you did it last time and Maya practically tried killing you, let me." Farkle offered and I took his wrist and took a soft bite. I finished what I needed and sat back. I looked at everyone and smiled.
"It worked, I didn't thro-" I was saying, when all of a sudden I spit everything back up. "No,no, no! What is happening!" I started to freak out and get really emotional. "AM I GOING TO DIE!"
"Maya! You're not going to die! Chill out!" Zay yelled to me.
"ZAY! I CAN'T HOLD ANY BLOOD DOWN! HOW CAN U TELL ME I'M NOT GOING TO DIE!" I screamed pinning him to the wall.
"Maya..." Pappy Joe said trying to get my attention, but I was focused on Zay. "Maya!" Pappy joe yelled pulling me off of him. "I have seen this before, you're going to be fine... but..."
"But what?" All of us questioned.
"It's going to involve the Phoenixes..." he said. After the words left his mouth a wave of worry was on all of our faces.
