I Got You

Maya POV.

"This is going to be one heck of a search" Riley stated as she turned in a circle gazing around the gigantic house.

"Wait Zay," I whispered. "How are you able to walk in here?"

"It's either the owner has died or it is owned by a vampire, so I'm allowed in."

"Oh, ok." I replied looking around trying to find a way for us to search this huge house when I heard a noise.

"HELP! SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF HERE!" I heard a manly voice scream.

Lucas

I look at Zay who puts a finger over his mouth to signal to us to stay quiet as we all slowly walk towards the noise. We ended up walking down a huge corridor that opens up to a wide area, and we all peeked around the wall to look in the room. Sure enough Lucas is hanging from the ceiling by ropes that seem to be... burning him?

"What is happening to him?" I asked Zay very quietly.

"They are vervain ropes. Vervain blocks compulsion for humans and is like acid to vampires when they touch it" he whispered back as we saw a mysterious woman walk into the room.

"You didn't give up yet?" She said to Lucas in a harsh and annoyed tone.

"No, and I won't anytime soon."

"All you have to do is accept the deal and I won't hurt you or your friends anymore" the woman said.

"I'm not giving you the stone!" Lucas hissed.

"Lucas, we are the good guys here. We want to save you all from getting hurt."

"Says the girl hanging me by vervain ropes right now." Lucas said sarcastically, rolling his eyes

"Listen. The Phoenixes are trying to use the stone for evil, we are gonna use the stone... to help create more of us good guys."

"No! No one should be using the stone!"

"Fine, you leave us no choice." The girl says making Lucas drink more vervain.

"That little bitch" I said through gritted teeth. I  sat up and was about to go kick her ass for hurting Lucas but Zay stopped me.

"I got this" he said and then he ran in and ripped out her heart. Riley screams and backs up, not expecting what just happened.

"Lucas are you okay!" I yelled running over to him.

"I-I'm ok now" Lucas said and then started having a coughing fit.

"Okay, I can't touch these ropes so I need you guys to untie him. And do it fast before someone else notices we're here." Zay says as we start to untie Lucas.

We got Lucas untied and Zay put him on his back, then we ran out of the house to head back to Pappy Joe's.

BACK AT THE HOUSE

Zay sits Lucas down on the couch and everyone goes to get changed and take showers. While they were doing that I decided to sit on the other side of the couch quietly. After a few seconds I decided to talk.

"I was worried sick about you, you know." I said keeping my head down. After a few seconds, I felt Lucas come closer to me and lift my head up, so he can look me in the eyes.

"And I was worried about you when you ran away from me."

"Yeah" I laughed. "It was all just a little too much at once."
