Chapter 31 - Darkness

I had found out that Rumpelstiltskin was called, Mr. Gold in this land. I had been in his shop several times, when he was away or distracted, but never had I seen the box. The last time I was there he found out and I had to play it out as if I was a customer. So now I can't show my face in there again. I had not come any closer on how to get back to Neverland. Usually I would just say 'I believe', but since more than 2 years has passed, Peter might not want to see me, and therefore the shadow, would not pick me up. He could also be dead, but that thought was so sad, that I couldn't bear it.

I was on one of my running trips. As I was running toward the harbour, I heard someone shouting and a little later talking. I looked around to see who it was, but I didn't see anyone. Then I remembered that even though I wore the necklace, I still had my predators keen sense of hearing. 

As I came closer I saw some silhouettes of some people. Suddenly they moved to the docks and I became curious, and therefore decided to run to them. A ship was sailing in, while I was still quite a long distance from them. As I came closer, I could see that it was Emma, the mayor, David, Mr. Gold and some more. They all started to board the ship, and a tear stained woman walked past me and then some conversation,

"What is it? Where is that?"

"Neverland" Said the pirat dressed guy. That is also the exact time I decided to speak up,

"Are you going to Neverland?"

"Who are you?" Said the pirat. Then David spoke,

"That's Sabrina, the girl I worked with in the animal shelter." I just corrected him, my fake name was Sabrina, not my real name. Then I repeated my earlier question.

"Yes, why?" Said Emma. I avoided her question with asking another,

"Why are you going?" I got exited by the mere thought of a chance of coming back.

"Henry, got kidnapped, and they brought him to Neverland. We need to get him back." Said a dark haired. She looked kind so I guessed that she was Snow White. 

"I wanna help. Besides, you could use someone who knows the island like the back of their hand" I said. I had a good plan for where this was going and how to get what I wanted. Mr. Gold and Mr. Pirat seemed suspicious. 

"The one who knows the island that would be me" Said pirat. Snow looked harshly at him.

"Thank you, we need all the help that we can get." Snow said.

"One more thing though..." I said a little too fast maybe. Gold had a glint in his eye, as if thinking: 'There we have the reason behind her offer'. He acted a bit like Peter. It was small things, but the glint in his eye was very much a family thing. Everyone else looked expectantly at me.

"Well then hurry up and go get it!" Said the mayor.

"Can't, I don't have it, he does" I said nodding towards Gold. He furrowed his brows and asked,

"Well, what is it then?"

"Pandoras box" I said. He instantly answered,

"Who told you about that?!"

"Does it matter? I need it. Do you want my help or not?" I asked confidently. He looked down and suddenly he was gone and instead there were smoke. A little while later he was back with it. He handed it to me.

"There you go, and now let's go." He said sounding a little defeated. I put the box inside my running jacket and walked to the front of the ship. I could hear their conversation, but decided not to listen. My mission now was first of all to find out whether Peter was still alive or not, and if alive of course save him. Then came Henry and all of the boys. Then, if Peter weren't alive anymore, I had to think about what to do with my very own life. 

Going through the portal was rough. Once we were through and I could see Neverland, I got a shock. I was so dark and stormy, not the almost bright and joyful island I remembered. But of course lots of thing could have happened in the 28 years that I were gone. 

Being very sad I went down to the captains quarters. Mainly by aimlessly walking around the ship until I found it. I just sat down and thought about my life. 

Suddenly, after some time, it felt as if something hit the ship. I walked out to see what was happening. The ship kept getting hit. Snow and David were trying to steady the ship. 

"Prepare for attack!" Said pirat guy

"Could you be more specifik?" Asked the mayor

"If you've got a weapon, grab it!" He answered. He grabbed the rudder and David, Snow and Emma ran to the edge.

"What's out there? a shark? a whale?" Emma said

"A kraken?" David offered. The ship were still moving around as if in a storm. From the water you could hear horrible screaming and hissing sounds. it could only be...

"Mermaids" Said Mr. Pirat

I was looking through my brain looking for something or a way that I could help, but without my predator I was just a useless human with keen senses.

"Mermaids?!" Emma screamed. The mermaids kept banging into the ship. If they kept doing that we would soon not have any ship.

"Yes and they are quite unpleasant" Said Pirat.

"You think?" Said the mayor, very sarcastic.

They were talking meaninglessly about the mermaids, while I started looking for a weapon. David joined me, and together we started up a canon. He shot them and I stood ready to fill it up again. As we kept firing Emma and Snow tried to pull one in with a net and the Mayor started shooting fire balls at them. I nearly forgot that she was the Evil Queen.

As the last mermaid swam away, the mayor used magi to get the one in the net on board. I immediately reacted,

"Why have you brought one up here?"

"Get that thing of my ship!" Pirat guy said

"No, now we have a hostage" Said the queen, way to calm for my liking.

"I'm with Hook, those things just tried to kill us" David said. Wait a minute, Hook? Wasn't Hook the one who helped Joe and Bill. Those people who tried to kidnap me?

"And perhaps we should find out why" said the mayor

"NO!" I said "Because my guess is that you would want to torture her or something like that, and I simply won't let you" I that moment I recognized the mermaid, she was the one who tried to kill me.

"You're the girl who.." I didn't let her finish, instead I said,

"Yeah, you are in debt to me, and you know it. So tell us why you attacked us and we'll let you go." I said "And I want the full story"

"Okay, Pan told the counsil,  that if we didn't attack all of you when you came, he would kill all of us. So of course the counsil chose to live." She said. I nodded, I now knew that Peter was alive, he had certainly changed a lot. But just knowing that he was alive was a huge relief and a burden lifted of my shoulders.

"Let her go" I said to the Queen. She looked at me like she didn't like to be ordered around, but then she did as I said. I the noticed something,

"Where's Rumpelstiltskin?" I asked

"He left, said that none of us would be able to do what had to be done" Answered ... Hook

I felt in my jacket for the box, but it was gone. Now that I knew Peter was alive, I also knew that I needed that box more than ever.

"One more thing, your name is Hook?" I asked him.

"I prefer Captain Hook, but yes, that's me" He answered. I nodded. I would've known who this guy was, if those guys weren't that bad kidnappers.

"As soon as we get to shore, i'll leave to find Rumpelstiltskin, and you will all continue to look for Henry. I'll find you somehow, but I won't delay you" I said in a final tone.
