Chapter 18 - Dead meat

Sierra's POV

When we walked in to the clearing, the cage was of course still there. But, it looked empty. We both almost ran to the cage to look for Katherine. Nothing was broken, the bed looked all fine, a little messy but fine, and the drawer wasn't broken. The roof was all fine.

"She's gone" Iris stated. She started messing with the lock in an attempt to unlock it. I got a little confused why did she want to go in there?

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Well, when we can't see, then why not go in and look once more. You know, double checking." She answered in a calm tone. She figured it out and opened the door. I was almost frozen in place, I didn't like this, 'cause that girl scared me a lot the first time. Iris walked in like it was nothing, sometimes she is so brave and other times she is just plain stupid, like now.

I stayed outside and I even took some steps away, because everything just felt wrong. Iris looked a little around, checked the drawer, looked at the roof she even checked under the bed, but she wasn't there.

"Okay, so we" She sat down on the bed and continued talking "failed our only...". Before she could finish, the bed sheets moved and out jumped a little black cat. Katherine ran straight out the door and in to the forest. Both Iris and I stood frozen.

"No, now we've failed our only task..." I said. We stood there staring at each other, trying to figure out what to do. At first I though that we could just go and look for her, but it would be hopeless since she is small and could hide anywhere. That's when Iris desided to speak.

"What if we just pretend nothing happened, we 'feed' Katherine every day and if Pan asks we say she's fine" Iris suggested.

"No... no, no, no. Not gonna happen, if Pan find out that we've lied-"

"No, if Pan found out we let her ESCAPE, we are going to be dead meat" Iris said.

"Yeah, you are right," I said sighing, "but I don't like it and promise me that if he asks, you lie to him. I don't want to" I agreed. So we threw the meat in the cage, closed it and left.

Several days later

Peter Pans POV

I sat in a beautiful clearing in the forest with Iris. She was indeed beautiful, but still nothing like her. Iris was bleach blond while she had dark brown hair. This was just one of the many differences, both beautiful, but she was also beautiful on the inside. I had tried not to think about her these last few days, but haven't been succeeding.

We were on a walk through the forest, but had to stop because Iris got tired. It was quite annoying really, she wouldn't be tired already...

"Maybe we should just go back" I said, already being tired of her. I stepped a little away from her to start going back, but then I heard a rustle in the bushes. My first thought was that it was one of the boys, but I couldn't be more wrong because suddenly out of the bushes jumped a tiger and landed on Iris.

I recognised it as Katherine. She acted almost feral and went straight for the kill, but that was when I interrupted. I jumped her, to try and save Iris even though I don't really like her.

Katherine fought hard against me and quickly got on top of me, she placed one front paw on each of my shoulders. She opened her jaw, trying to bite my neck. I succeeded in fending her of for a bit, but she was strong in the tiger form. She then moved her front paws down to my upper arms, so I couldn't fend her of. She started lowering her head to bite my throat in two.

I closed my eyes and prepared myself to die. It feelt as if I had been waiting forever when i felt her teeth scrape my neck. But all of a sudden all of the weight was off of my body. I heard a whine, and I opened my eyes only to see one dead tiger and another on top of it. I was thoroughly confused, but that was when the, still living, tiger looked at me. And that's when I knew that the tiger that attacked was a wild and probably a feral one.

Katherine looked at me, her tiger form started changing and even she looked confused... well, as confused as a tiger can look. her whole body structure changed and got more muscular. Her fur changed and two of her teeth started elongolating. She turned into a saber toothed cat (also known as the saber toothed tiger although wrong).

Then she changed back, I stood up and gave her a cape to cover up(pan's got magic so that's where the cape's from). She also got a new paw print on her arm to go with the rest. Now she's got 5 predators.

I was still a bit shocked and Iris was unconscious. But from what my shadow had found out, warriors have to either really need a new animal or earn it with heroism or something like that...

By then I didn't even want to use her, I wanted her at my camp and willingly by my side.

"Would you like to come back to camp, instead of going back to that cage" There was a pause and she looked a bit doubtful. "I'm sorry, I made a mistake, I shouldn't have kept you in that cage" I said. That seemed to convince her, she smiled and we started walking back, until she suddenly stopped.

"What about Iris" she said, not sounding happy, neither looking like it.

"Oh, yes, I'll make sure to send someone for her later" This seemed to make her happy and then we walked back.

A/N

I really liked writing this chapter, because of the fight going on between Pan and what he thought was Katherine !! <3

I'm also gonna apoligize, but not big time because I do not believe in apoligizing for (overly) late updates. I believe that if the author takes longer than usually, then there is a reason :-D
