I walked down the steps of the house to the dining room. Sure enough, there was a plate of toast for me and a glass of chilled orange juice.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I got everything," Arzaylea said guiltily as she revealed strawberry jam, butter, marmalade, Nutella and Vegemite. "Oh uh, I'll take that," I picked up the Nutella.

I began spreading the chocolate spread onto the face of my golden brown toast, using half of my vision to spy on Arzaylea. Nothing from the time I used to steal glances over at Arzaylea had given me a clue on why she was acting so nice towards me.

All she had in her hands was her phone. She wasn't even eating. Usually, she'd get a move on first and wait in the car for mom and I. Oh right, it was a Friday. We take busses on Fridays because mom had to go off for work earlier than usual, like dad.

"Umm, hurry up or we'll miss the bus," I told her as I brought my plate over to the dishwasher. "The bus?" She looked up from her phone. By the looks of her raping thumb movement, she was texting. Texting several people at one time.

"Oh yeah, since you were, umm, gone, there was a change. Mom had to go for work early and we take the bus," I explained to her slowly. "Oh," she cringed. Now that was the Arzaylea I knew. Arz never liked the school busses. Said it had something to do with foiling her reputation.

"Umm okay sis," she smiled, "Let's go." She was acting super weird ever since she came back. I felt like she'd do anything I ask her too. So I put it to the test.

"You know your hair would look so much better in a pigtail right?" I said. "What, really? Is that what you have been doing? Did everyone like it?" She began groping her hair as if it'd fall out any second. "Yeah totes," I said, leaning back on the kitchen counter, observing her.

"Well, I'm pretty sure there's a hair tie somewhere. Ah, there's two here, perfect," she glowed. She began separating the head of her mane into two. Then she tied them off each with one black rubber band that we both always leave around the house.

"So, how do I look?" She said once she was done. She did a 360 turn. I must say she did look a tad bit ridiculous.

"Er, great," I managed to plaster a convincing smile and lifted both my hands and shaped them into a thumbs up. "Coolness," She jumped a little and made a move for her phone.

What was happening? My sister? Listening to my fashion advice? Not that the pigtails was actually what I would wear to school. Nu uh. Not in a million years would I wear a pigtail to high school.

"Let's get going," she grabbed her bag and bolted out the door. "Arzel!" I called from the staircase. "Yeah! Coming!" He shouted from his bedroom.

A minute later he came racing down the staircase like his ass was on fire. Then he landed on the floor perfectly after he jumped of from a height of 5 steps.

"Let's go," he said and ruffled my hair. I didn't mind at that point because my hair was all wavy but if he ruffled my hair after I had gotten it straightened, I would make him drink his soup or any liquid from a dog bowl for a month, without a fail. Arzel didn't like being treated like an animal.

"Arzaylea?" Arzel called out to her when we reached the front door. "What?" She called back. We walked over to her after I locked the front door. She was already waiting at the sidewalk. "Aren't you suppose to catch a ride with Zebra or something?" Arzel asked and I laughed quietly. "Her name is Zeera, my sweet sweet brother," she said in a sickly sweet voice. And I also caught a look she gave me. That apologetic look that you'd give to people other than your family member such as you friends saying, Don't mind my brother, he's a douche. I was so confused. Why was she treating me like a friend? Being all nice and polite. She even complimented me and my style! And also lets not that little fashion advice session we had.

I've been pondering for a while now, and I wanted answers.
