Chapter 3: The Bond
Moriko
I turned around and ripped his arm of my back, ignoring the weird pins and needles I felt and I glared at him.
"Moriko, w- what's wrong?" He's scared. Good, serves him right, did he not realise what he had done. Such an idiot. Maybe he missed out on school too. I mentally hushed myself. now wasn't the time for jokes.
"You're such an idiot." I seethed, "Haven't you realise what you've done yet, why are you here anyway?"
"Huh?" He looked genuinely confused or he could just be playing with me.
"You fool; you created a UNNECESSARY BOND WITH ME!" My voice was growing louder by the second, I didn't care if anyone found me, to hell with all of them. Right now all that mattered was killing this bastard or somehow getting rid of him. Sure I said I was lonely, but that didn't mean I wanted to be bonded with someone. That would mean having to protect another person and I don't think I was ready for that yet.
I saw something change in his eyes. They went from their usual warm and teasing to dark and cold, they kinda freaked me out.
"Moriko, run."
"NO I WILL NOT RUN YOU BASTARD, you are going to sit down and explain to me why you are here and why you made a bond with me do understand what you have done. Hey, are you listening to me?"
I lived on unclaimed land, no one knew I was there until this cocky idiot decided to strut his way into my life. I was furious, hell not even that described what I was feeling. I was livid, what the hell was this guy's problem, why wasn't he answering my questions.
"MORIKO" He shouted.
"WHAT?"
"RUN, NOW!" I turned around to see a whole pride of cat Shifters of all different sizes running towards me. I was too shocked to move, there was so many, I hadn't seen that many Shifters in a long time. I gasped as I was suddenly knocked to the ground. My natural instincts kicked in and I quickly flipped my body around, pushed my hand off the ground and somersaulted through the air. I called on the change and shifted into my wolf. I landed on all fours and immediately looked for Ryuu, the one who got me in this situation.
"Spirit, go back. I'll speak to you later."
I mind linked her. God knows what these people would do if they saw her. I growled menacingly at the tigers in front of me. I lunged forward and clawed at the nearest shifter and pulled my claws through his fur in an attempt to get to his skin. He howled in pain and fell to the side whimpering. I ran forward and jumped onto the next one, locking my jaws around its hind leg and dragged her out of my way. I saw a small gap and ran for it. A Shifter stood in the way of me and my freedom. I braced myself for the impact, ready to barge him until a large tiger pounced on him and clawed the side of his face. I heard the gentle whisper of someone entering my thoughts,
"Moriko, it's Ryuu. Go I'll catch up."
"Ryuu wait, who are these people?"
He was silent for a moment before saying, "It's my pride."
"WHAT!THEN WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FROM THEM?!"
"Because. Just go, I'll tell you later. I can't let them catch me."
He blocked me off, leaving me completely confused. Why was he running from them? Was he a rogue? Did he do something bad? Oh my god! What if he was going to kill me? I shook my head trying to get rid of the stupid questions that swarmed me. He couldn't be bad, after all, he did help me. Maybe he made the bond for a reason.
