Chapter 4: Findings
Moriko
Shock covered his face as well as everyone else around us. I suppressed a smirk, if I laughed I would probably be killed for being disrespectful, Chrysalis or not. The Alpha was the one who broke the drop dead silence.
"But how can that be, that race went extinct long ago." I looked at him and stated bluntly.
"Well I'm alive, aren't I?" A girl around my age stepped forward and glared at me with pure hatred. She walked up the steps of the deck and faced me.
"You shouldn't be, you're lying. You brainwashed our prince into listening to you so you could come and take over our pride."
"YEAH!" A few shouts were heard from the crowd. Why the hell would they think I would want to do that. I am a bloody Princess, well was before I left. Anyway, I am perfectly content with my life.
"SILENCE! If you are a Chrysalis like my son says then prove it, show us your power." I paled, I had only found out I was a Chrysalis recently, I didn't even know how to control the simple elements. I closed my eyes, ready for the pack to start jeering and throwing stuff at me or worse kill me.
"Moriko its okay, listen to me." Ryuu's voice filled my head, soothing my raging emotions.
"I'll give you a quick lesson on how to use the elements. There are lots of different elements but we don't have time for that right now. I'll teach you the basics on how to control water, fire, earth and air which are four of the elements you are most likely to have."
"Ok. Thanks, Ryuu." I voiced my appreciation.
"It's fine, now clear your head, don't think of anything focus on the sound of the wind, imagine it lifting you up and you moving with the current." I did so and felt the breeze getting stronger and stronger. The air currents rushed past me. The stray strands of hair that framed my face were blown back.
"Moriko open your eyes and look." I opened my eyes and looked around. I gasped as I realised that I was more than 10 feet off the ground. The pride members were nothing but a speck in the distance.
"That's good, now to tackle water, air is easy to control. For other elements such as water, shifters use something called The Source. The Source helps us control elements making them appear right in front of us even if there is, for example, no water around us. What I need you to do now is to picture a lake or pond in front of you, think of how it would feel to run your hands through the water and cup it as water flows down your arms and through the gaps between your fingers. Imagine the water coming together to form a globe. you must concentrate to keep the shape sphere."
I did what he instructed me to do. I could hear the sound of rushing water as it collected and created a giant globe above the people. I grinned, imagine if I accidentally drop it. How angry would they be?
"Okay, how do I control fire?" I asked eager to try something new.
"Fire is a bit different. Some elements we use our emotions to control, fire is one of them. The emotions associated with fire are happiness, joy, vanity, jealousy, frustration, regret, grief and the most obvious- anger. Right now I want you to focus on anger as it is the easiest to deal with. What I want you to do is make yourself angry."
"Huh? How am I supposed to do that?" I've experienced anger before but forcing myself to feel an emotion is different. It's not as real as it is in the moment you feel it.
