Tears stream down Luke's face as he finished reading the diary.
"This is what she wrote to me before she passed away, not even knowing if I'd ever see it or not." he stated as he held up the diary. He spoke loud enough for everyone to hear although he stuttered a bit at first. "I just- I- I want to say a few things."
He looked down, collecting himself, then back up. He ran a hand through his tangled hair, and he released a shaky breath.
"This is difficult for me, and I honestly don't know where I'm even supposed to begin. I know I should begin my doing what everyone would, and I should say that we're here to not only remember her but to honor her too. She'd kick my ass for that. I first met Morgan Renae Tucker on YouTube. She sang a cover of Skinny Love by Birdy, and I mean it when I say woah," he says, smiling at the thought. "I asked her to be my girlfriend a month after we started talking, and she said yes. I was thirteen.
"We would Skype and FaceTime a lot. I finally grew a pair of balls one day, and I flew to Texas to meet her in person." Everyone in the crowd laughed although you could tell they were still depressed, obviously. "I promise you it was from that moment on I knew that we were soulmates. Okay, she'd kick my ass for that too. We weren't soulmates, they don't exist, but we were pretty fucking close. My face is like a waterfall right now, sorry."
Luke laughs as tears stream down his face, and he breaks down. He looks at the crowd, desperately searching for her to sit there laughing at him, and for everyone to tell him it was a prank. She never showed. Nobody laughed. Its real.
"If she were right next to me, she'd tell me what an emotional bitch I am. She was quite abusive, but in a good way. I loved her, and I still do. She wanted me to move on with my life, so I will. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but I will. And I'm going to jam out like she asked. Its what she wants. I love you, Morgan. I miss you too. Hope you're having a grand time, wherever you are. Thank you." He left the stage.
Luke went back on tour after a month. After two, he was finally able to go to her grave. A year passed before he finally got a girlfriend, but he did. He still thought of Morgan every day, but she wanted him to get a life after her. He did.
He got married, and his wife had a daughter. They named her Morgan, and she grew up to be a spitting image of Morgan Tucker although she actually looked healthy. Luke lived a good life, and when he settled down, he did so in Morgan's hometown. Life was good. Just as Morgan had hoped for him.
