I woke up early in the morning and rolled out of bed. I suited up in my grey catsuit and loaded my gun, putting it into the holster. The knife, extra rounds, and stunners followed. I looked back at the bed and noticed Wade wasn't there. I climbed out the window and up the rain pipe, onto the roof. He sat on the edge, looking at the city behind his mask and suit. I climb up sit next to him.

"Good morning." He says.

"Morning What's up?"

"There's another request today. I was asked to find some factory boss. Want to come along?"

"Sure, why not?" He looks and jumps off the building and hits the ground on his feet. I hold onto the pipe and slide down, being that I'm not immortal like him, but I'm close behind. We run at full speed to wherever it is he was told to go. We arrive in minutes at a car production factory.

"We could have just teleported here." I say, slightly out of breath.

"This way it wakes you up." He says. I roll my eyes and realize I forgot my mask. "I should've grabbed my mask." I say as we walk towards the machinery.

"Eh, they won't live to tell the tale." He says lightly. "Sh, here they are." He quiets down and puts his arm out to stop me. I look around the corner and see the main man at the head of a table, with two other buff guys. His body guards probably. "You get the guys, I'll get the big man." He says. I nod and get my gun, turning off the safety. He does the same.

We move forward.

I shoot the first guy with ease. I miss the second as Wade absorbs the bullets they fire as he moves for the now-running boss. The guard runs towards me and I fire again. He must be wearing a bullet proof vest, he's not reacting. He runs and takes my throat in his hands. I look into his dark eyes, he's not a man. He's a robot.

I fire at his metal dick and it still doesn't do anything. I drop my gun as my vision blurs. He drops me on my back and he steps on my chest.

I hear my heart in my ears. He points a gun at my head. Wade tackles him and the bullet ricochets. It hits my ribs, it hurts like hell. Wade takes him down with his katanas.

The boss runs back, however, and tackles Wade. The boss raises yet another gun and I stand.

"Mr Mercenary, don't you know you don't attack the boss of a car factory? I can have you killed by any one of these machines." He says. I hobble closer to the short man.

"You can't kill him. He's immortal." I choke out. My torso is bleeding heavily, the bullet hurts with every breath I take. The stout man turns the gun to point at me and shoots the bullet wound again. I fall and in my last moments of consciousness, I see Wade overcome the man and shoot his forehead.

I wake up in the bed at the apartment. Wade stands from a chair, he's in his suit with his mask in his hands. He was gripping tightly to it.

"You okay?" He asks. I try to sit up and my chest tightens.

"Agh." I choke out in pain, it hurts to take air in. I fall back on the bed. He kneels next to me and holds the back of my head in his hands. I look at him and smile. "It only hurts when I breathe." I say tightly.

"I'm sorry baby girl. Stay down. You want me to call an ambulance?"

"No. They'll arrest us then for murder. It doesn't hurt. It's not bleeding."

"I stitched it up. It didn't hit your heart but I think it hit a lung."

"It's alright babe, I have two of them." I laugh through the pain. He kisses my forehead.

"Don't die yet, Gracie. Not yet." He says. I nod, and smile. "Does it hurt bad?"

"Only if you let it. They're only bullet holes, could have been an explosive."
