They aren't together yet in this, like in the previous chapter

Tony threw his wrench down on the table, irritated that the additions to his suit weren't operating correctly still.

"Shall I draw you a bath sir?" Jarvis sounded over the speaker.

"No Jarvis, thank you. Where are the Avengers by now?" The others had gone on a trip to Bermuda as a little thank you present for something or other.

"They're just now leaving." Jarvis answered.

"Great." Tony said sarcastically. Jarvis didn't answer. Tony rolled his eyes and began walking towards the kitchen for a bottle of beer. He pinched the bridge of his noise as it throbbed.

He turned the corner to the kitchen and saw Steve sitting on a stool reading the paper. Tony stopped in his tracks and clasped a hand over his artificial heart.

"Jesus." He mumbled. Captain folded the paper and set it down, grinning. "Why're you so happy? You just missed a plane for a vacation."

"Well, Nat decided to tell me on the day we leave that you're not coming to the vacation." He mocked Tony. "Thanks for not telling me."

"St-"

"No. No excuses. You need this vacation the most Tony. You lock yourself up in your lab and you only come out for Fury. You won't even eat, you're so obsessed with your work."

"I talk to Jarvis." Tony says, crossing his arms.

"He's a robot Tony. It doesn't count."

"I can hear that Mr Rogers." Jarvis says through the microwave speaker. Captain frowns.

"This generation..." He shrugs off the thought of how downhill the people of the world are going. "Tony you need to take time off."

"I can't take time off Steve! Can't you see? I'm so close. It's just a few little tweaks left."

"It's been three weeks."

"So?"

"So everyone misses you! Bruce has no one to take to about his science stuff, Nat doesn't even yell at anyone anymore, Thor won't try to figure out how to use the stove anymore. He said you're the only one that can teach him." Tony frowned.

"All these years I've been there for them and they can't be here for me?" Steve stands and approaches the shorter man.

"Tony they miss you. I miss you." Steve says. Something rings in Tony's head. He cocks an eyebrow.

"I didn't mean that." Steve says defensively, his face reddening.

"Yes you did! You said it Rogers!" Tony smiles and laughs.

"I didn't mean it!" Steve protests.

"That's alright Rogers. I've missed you too." Steve pauses and smiles.

"Let's get you some actual food. And a shower wouldn't kill ya." Steve says, plugging his noise and laughing.
