Loki
"Lady Grace?" he peered over the back of the couch, down to her. "Lady," he placed his hand on her back, "Grace."
He leaned over the back of the couch and kissed her lips. Two hands placed themselves on his cheeks and he climbed over the back of the couch to lay beside her.
She giggled, "You're so awkward."
"Happy Holiday to you too," he scoffed and stood.
"No," she pouted. "Don't leave."
She reached out to him, only catching the tail of his Christmas sweater.
"Come Lady Grace," he grabbed her hands and pulled her off the couch. "You've hibernated for too long."
"First of all, it was a nap. Second, it was two hours," she sulked and followed him. She fixed her grip on his hand.
"Well I had to wake you," he started. "If I let you sleep, you'd wake to find all the gifts unpackaged and all the cookies eaten."
"Very well," she stated as he wrapped his arm around her waist. They stopped in front of the tree. "Merry Christmas."
He smiled as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
Ronan
"What rubbish," he pulled the tinsel down. Strand by strand. "Why waste precious time on such a trivial thing?"
He was mumbling to himself as he finished throwing the decorations down; handmaid Christmas frames, memorable snow globes, and the tinsel, of course.
"Ronan?" her voice was so small, so distant. It cracked under the choked pressure. He looked to his queen.
"What're you doing?" she sounded so heart-broken.
"Did you put this all up?" he tied the garbage bags off.
She nodded with tears in her eyes. "Why're you throwing it all away?"
"Because it's rubbish! It's idiotic! I won't allow this in my palace!"
"Our palace, Ronan."
"Our palace," he corrected himself.
"But this matters to me. Christmas matters to me," she paused and took patient breaths in. She had to be patient, he didn't understand human ways. "Christmas is a happy time, a family time. And I can't be with my family if I'm royalty here. So I need you to understand how important it is to me that we celebrate."
She approached him and the trash bags. Ornaments had broken, frames dismantled.
"This is important to me," she spoke lowly as the tears brimmed again. He set the bags down.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know it mattered so much," he tried desperately to win her love back.
"I don't think you even get it now," she said sadly as she sat on the floor. She ripped the bags apart and started pulling surviving decorations out, and frowning at the broken ones.
He sat down next to her on the floor of his - their palace. He helped his beloved queen.
"I'm truly sorry," he tried again.
"I know."
"Merry Christmas," he watched her in all her beauty.
"Merry Christmas," she took his hand.
