MAMA'S MILKSHAKES - 2:03pm
"Cara, stay in here, I'll get your milkshake for you." Daniel said as he stood up and put on his jacket. "Are you crazy? I wanna go to milkshake land! Move boy!" Cara exclaimed as she gently pushed Daniel aside.
"So when do you think the drugs will wear off?" Luke asked Daniel. Daniel shrugged. "I'll take her in. We'll be two minutes." Daniel said and everyone else nodded.
"Daniel!" Cara shouted. Daniel jumped and ran towards her. "What?! What happened?" He asked as he held her arm before she stepped onto the road.
"A zebra! A zebra on the road!" Cara squealed as she pointed at the 'zebra crossing.' Daniel let go of her arm and laughed. "Thats just a zebra crossing." Daniel said as he patted her shoulder. She looked at him with confusion. "No.. its a zebra." Cara said as she side-eyed him. Daniel sighed. "Oh, silly me, it is." He pretended to play along. "Yeah crazy man.. you feeling okay?" Cara snickered as she leant on him. "I'm feeling fine now.." Daniel smiled down at her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Cara gasped as she looked up at him. Daniel shook it off. "Um, lets go get the milkshakes yeah?" Daniel said as he took Cara by the arm again to cross over the 'zebra.'
They finally reached a milkshake place called 'Mama's Milkshake's.' They walked inside together and Cara sat on a pink and black stool at the counter while Daniel rang the little bell.
"Howdy! Welcome to Mama's Milkshake's! What can I get y'all?" The waitress wearing a poofy blonde wig asked them. "Wait, mama? Is my mother here?!" Cara exclaimed as she slammed her hands on the table and stood up and peeped under the counter. The waitress gave Daniel a look as he gave her an apologetic smile.
"That'd just be a chocolate milkshake to go please, thanks." Daniel said quickly as he pulled Cara back up from under the counter. "Right." The waitress said quickly as she disappeared into the back.
Cara slouched on her chair and rested her head in her hands as her cheeks squished up. Daniel smiled fondly at her.
"Something on my face or what? You keep looking at me weirdly." Cara said as she raised an eyebrow. "No." Daniel shrugged as he looked down again. Cara put her hand on his shoulder and smiled.
"I know, I'm beautiful." She giggled as she batted her eyelashes.
The waitress came back out with the chocolate milkshake and looked at the pair. Daniel looked lost for woods. "Excuse me, heres your milkshake. That'd be 3 dollars." She said. Cara grabbed the milkshake and skipped out happily with it. Daniel sheepishly smiled as he handed her the money and told her to keep the change and ran out after Cara.
"This milkshake is soooo good!" Cara exclaimed as she grabbed onto Daniel's shirt dramatically. "Uh yeah okay." He said, bewildered. "Well, lets not keep the others waiting!" She said happily as she ran to the van.
Cara and Daniel both got into the van. "Heeeey guys!" Cara said as she hugged nearly everyone but then gave up as she landed on a seat next to Courtney. "Ooo, can I have some?" Courtney asked excitedly. Cara looked at her as if she just offended her great ancestors. Courtney put up her hands and scooted away. "Never mind." Courtney giggled.
"Hey Daniel, its our turn to go into the front." Luke said as he twirled the keys in his hands. "Uh yeah sure ok." Daniel said as he looked at a happy looking Cara with her milkshake once more before going into the front.
Lauren stuck her head through the two front seats and rested her elbows on each seat as she showed Luke the map to Monterrey on the laptop.
"So this is our first stop in Mexico. Its actually really far from here so if you and Daniel want to switch wit any of us just let us know." Lauren smiled at Luke then nodded at Daniel as she scooted backwards back to the others.
