"We're all so glad you're okay!" Snow was the first to blurt something out.
"Yes mom, I am fine but clearly I wasn't at some point in the past or else I wouldn't be in the hospital and Killian wouldn't have been here." Emma crossed her arms, a difficult feat considering her large belly and the position she was in.
"Well we aren't sure what happened at first. Hook called us and said that you had collapsed in the nursery." David started, moving to the edge of the bed to grab his daughter's hand.
Oh yeah, she punched the wall. And she was tired. So tired. She didn't feel tired right now but she could tell it wouldn't last. "I punched a wall because I was pissed and then I just felt so tired that I laid down right there on the floor. I've got nothing after that until I woke up here." Emma waved her arms around, frustrated that they didn't tell the whole story at once.
"Well then we got you in the truck and brought you here. Hook was shouting at us and holding you the whole time, he didn't even want to give you over to Whale when we got here." Mary Margaret had taken up residence on the other side of Emma's bed and held her still slightly injured hand.
"Then Mary Margaret called us here and we waited for Whale to give us an update. Practically the whole town came by with flowers or chocolate or cards or a stuffed something." Regina gave Emma a half smile, she cared about her too and had gotten a card that she now knew was really cheesy.
"Anyway, Hook and David got into a fight that I had to break up then Whale came back a while later and told us that you should be improving and waking up but you hadn't. Then everything started beeping and nurses started rushing in so we went where they had taken you. You were practically seizing and you could only see the whites of you eyes; the second Hook grabbed your hand you relaxed though. Whale was mad because something magical was clearly going on but he told Hook to stay there. That was maybe a week ago, ever since then Hook hasn't left you unless it was to go the bathroom."
"Okay, wow." Emma blinked. She found herself starting to hope, maybe this was the thing that would kick Killian into gear. And she had just sent him away. "Dad-" Emma started urgently but David but up a hand to stop her.
"I'll go find him and make sure he cleans up and comes straight back." He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and left.
"Did you guys find out why I passed out?" Emma raised an eyebrow.
"I did, actually." Henry smiled and hugged his mom. "It's my siblings, they didn't want you to be sad anymore so they sorta shut your body down and they wanted to have their dad near them so they were only happy when he was with you. You actually woke up because of a true love's kiss from Hook."
Emma hated the fact that she was crying, she was not a cryer. She put her hand on belly and started laughing through her tears as a slight white glow followed her hand around. These kids would be powerful.
"I need some real food and hot chocolate." Emma finally said with a sniffle, pulling her hand away from her stomach and the glowing stopped.
"I'm on it." Henry smiled again and accepted the money his other mother pulled out of her purse and held out to him; it was enough for the whole clan to eat and then some. Where she gets her money? Nobody really knew.
"Okay. Now I need a shower." Emma grimaced as she held a long piece of golden hair in between her fingers. Greasy.
"I'll help you." Snow jolted forward and put her hand on Emma's elbow; Emma was about to protest but her legs wobbled a bit under her, barely being able to support her and two others after their week of disuse.
An hour later, Emma was freshly scrubbed, brushed and revitalized. She still had to wear a hospital gown but Regina had left and grabbed new underwear and a pair of Emma's pajama shorts for her to wear.
"Oh perfect timing." Emma sighed as Henry came through the door, both arms full of food with David behind him. Emma stared at him.
"I gave him some French fries and told him to wait outside the room. He's lucky that's all I did." David handed Emma her food and smiled at her grateful look. He gave out the rest of the food, all either fried or greasy; from Granny's of course.
"Oh wow, the whole family is here." Dr Whale stopped short as he walked in with a clipboard.
"And we're not leaving so don't try and make us." Snow raised her eyebrow at the doctor, daring him to challenge her.
"Alright, fine. Well Miss Swan, I am just going to do a final ultrasound just to make sure everything is okay after this whole ordeal. We jus got this new machine, it's 3D." The doctor started getting out the necessary materials to perform the ultrasound.
"That is still now my title or last name." Emma sighed and focused on her food for a minute or so before she put it down on the table and wiped her mouth. "Killian." She called. Her family all looked at her strangely but she would explain it to them later.
He slunk into the room like a guilty animal. He had showered, combed his hair, shaved and changed his clothes. He looked better already, even if he did have a little bit of fry on his lip. He kept his eyes on her the whole time, too ashamed to look at anybody else. Damn she was beautiful.
"Do you wan to see this last ultrasound in person?" She asked quietly. He could detect the bitterness she was keeping at bay underneath her calm tone. He just nodded, not trusting himself to speak.
Emma was used to these kind of appointments by now, she barely felt the goo anymore and she knew how fast Whale usually found a good image. This was 3D so instead of black, white and gray, there was black and an orangey-tan color and it was obviously 3D. And this time her entire family and her friends were here; as well as her previously absent husband. And they were all staring intently at the screen.
