Meriah POV

It's been a couple of months since I've moved into the house with Yuki, Shigure, Tohru and them. I did a lot of things around the house, a lot of this with Tohru. We did almost everything together.

It was winter and everything was going well. Tohru went out to do some shopping for dinner tonight and Kyo went with her. Shigure was working on his novel and I was sitting at the table drawing of course.

It was a drawing of an eye with trees alone the bottom of the page. In the outer of the eyes a scene of black building in a city with a white background and the pupal white building in a black background with a moon in the middle.

I was working on the eye lashes when I heard the door opening, I looked up and saw Yuki. I smiled at him. "Welcome home Yuki."

"Ah Miss. Valentina. I see that you're drawing again."

"Yes I was bored."

"Oh where is everyone?" He asked sitting down beside me

"Well Shigure is writing and Kyo went with Tohru to the store."

"So how long have you been here alone?" He asked

"About two hour's maybe. I don't know if there coming back or not?"

"Well Christmas is only a few day away. Tohru might be getting a little more food to last us." He said

"Yea I guess, but I can't believe that it's almost Christmas or that it took me two hours to draw that." I told him looking at my drawing

"It took you two hours wow it's really good."

"Thank you Yuki. So what were you doing on this cloudy day?" I asked

"I just went on a walk." I said

"Oh ok."

Yuki POV

I sat next to Meriah and we talked more about stuff. I asked her what she wanted to be when she gets out of High school and she said that she wanted to work at an Aquarium. I think it was a good idea but then I brought up that she couldn't get wet because of her tail.

We just sat there when we heard the sound of rain and then a few more moments the front door, and the sound of Tohru and Kyo.

"Tohru, Kyo your back." Meriah said happily

"Yea sorry that it took us so long we got stuck in the rain." Tohru said taking off her coat and hanging it up.

Kyo took of his and wiped it in the air to dry it off a little. Drops upon drops flow of the coat and over near to Meriah and me. Not noticing that drops of water was about to hit us until after feeling the cold water drop hit my right check I quickly looked over to Meriah whom already began to glow and her tail appeared.

"Nice going Kyo. You turned her mermaid form." I said

"Hey Yuki its ok. It's no big deal." She said placing her hand upon mine. I looked down and felt my cheeks get warm. She looked at me and quickly pulled her hand away, then there was silent.

"Yuki can you help me in the kitchen while Meriah waits for her tail to dry." Tohru said

"Alright" Getting up I walked to the Kitchen. Once in Tohru closed the door and turn to me.

"You like Meriah." She said with a happy smile.

"I-I...." I was lost of words

"You like, like Mariah. Don't tell me that you don't, When you do" She said.

I couldn't even lie to her because Tohru was the one that I could talk to, that told all my secrets to "Ok so your right I-I like, like her but I can't be with her." I told her sitting on the chair

"Why's that Yuki?" She questioned

"Because she's a mermaid and I'm a cursed rat." I told her

"Yuki it doesn't matter about the curse or that she's a mermaid, the only thing that matter is how you feel for one another. You like her and I know that she likes her back so go for it. Talk to her ok." She was right we were still human and that was the only thing that mattered.

"Thanks Tohru"

"Your welcome."

Meriah POV

I was still waiting for my tail to go away when Yuki walked back out

"Tohru wants you Kyo." He said walking over to the table

"Oh ok" He got up and walk in the kitchen

I looked down still embarrassed about what about "Hi"

I looked up slightly "hey"

"Meriah can I tell you something?" He said nervously

He was so easy to talk to and I could tell that it was the same for him so why is he so nerves around me all of a sudden. Was it because our hands touched? Or is it something else? "You can tell me anything." I felt my heart beat harder and louder like a drum. I looked up into his purple eyes.

His eyes

His hair

His soft touch

I wanted his arms around me, our hands intertwining.

I want to be called his.

But I knew that I wouldn't happen.

"Listen I-I wanted to tell you that I li..."
Just then we heard the door opening wide and the sound of someone calling for Shigure.

A/n: I wonder who is calling for Shigure *evil smile*
