Robert was right with Vida. She's the nanny he was waiting for for his only son.
On the morning of Monday he introduced his son to her. Lyndon was fast asleep when she arrived that night so when the child woke up he readied him to meet his new nanny.
And their first meeting was awesome. Vida's vibrant personality wowed Lyndon. She asked interesting questions to the child that the child happily and proudly answered them. From then they started to play. He just observed how the woman took his son's attention.
He hoped that she won't change with her impressive beginning.
When Friday came and that his ex-wife is fetching Lyndon.
"No! tey---sstey Tdady--- play Fidah." His son trying to say in his croaked words pushing his mother away and hide in Vida's back hugging her legs.
His ex-wife has nothing to do so she leave his son with them.
When his ex-wife and her boyfriend left Lyndon came out from Vida's back and put his arms up then Vida lifted him. He never seen his son so attached with his previous nannies even to his own mother and it's only a week since he knows Vida.
"What do you want for breakfast my prince?" Vida asked his son.
"Pangkeyk." He replied hugging Vida's neck.
"Sure my prince. Let's go down to the kitchen and make your pancake, will you help me?" Vida asked.
"Yes!" His son replied happily throwing his arms in the air.
Vida put his son down and hold his hand. The two walked down stairs.
"Daddy, come." His son's voice calling him.
His curiosity aroused how the woman works in the kitchen with his son. He knew that Vida let his son do some things in the kitchen because every night his son told him what they did but he never seen it yet. So this time he will going to see.
"Coming!" He replied and walked down stairs.
His son is seated on the kitchen counter.
"Daddy!" His son acknowledged his presence.
Vida put the stainless mixing bowl in front of Lyndon. She brought out the things she needed. Then she started measuring the ingredients.
"1 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour." She said.
"One an onehaf cups ollpupos fla." Seconded Lyndon with action. He put up his index finger when he said one, then when he said one half he sliced his finger using his another finger.
"Good job dear prince!" Vida said laughing. He laugh with her. This is what he heard sometimes from upstairs. Their laughter and he wonder why they laugh, now he saw one.
Vida continued her measuring."3 & 1/2 teaspoons baking powder." She added it to the flour in the mixing bowl.
"1 teaspoon salt,
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk." She measured it then add in the bowl."1 egg." This time she let Lyndon crack the egg in a small bowl and add in to the mix also. Lyndon claps his hand after he done the task given to him.
"And 3 tablespoons melted butter," she said taking out the butter from the microwave oven.
When all the ingredients are all in the mixing bowl she handed on wooden spoon to Lyndon and one for her. No wonder his son likes to be with her because she gave him some task that he enjoyed.
When they have made the mix smooth. She took a small pan and heat it with a little oil. She brought out a diner plate ready for the cooked pancake he supposed.
She scoop the batter onto the pan using a big spoon. She put three drops in the pan. Then turned it over and when it's light golden brown she took out and put in the readied dining plate. She switched off the stove and scoop his son and put in his high chair in the dining table.
"Okay you're a big boy right, you eat first while I'm cooking the rest then I'll sit down with you. Okay!" She talked to her son.
"Okay." And she put a piece of pancake in his small plate with his own plastic knife and fork. She spread a maple syrup and let his son cut it by himself.
Wow! He thought. His son can do some simple things all by himself.
"I'll take a plate for you." She told him.
"No let Lyndon eat first, I'm fine I can wait." He replied.
"Daddy eat." His son said. So he has nothing to do but to eat with his son.
Vida poured an orange juice in Lyndon's cup and to his glass. She went back to the kitchen after and continue her cooking. He too enjoyed the pancake like his son. This is so good. A homemade food for them.
Vida is the right person in their home.
