A/N: Hey you guys! I thought I was gonna update about two weeks ago, but I decided to wait until Valentine's Day! Happy V-Day btw! I also finished a chapter that's three away from this one, and it will make you cry. It's really great! I can't wait for you guys to read them. I love you babies! See you at the end. (PS: this cover has nothing to do with this chapter, but I'm slowly becoming obsessed with William Singe who's on the right, and he can SANG).

One Year
Preston was pacing back and forth in the waiting room with Brayden screeching for him just on the other side of the door. No kids were allowed into the ICU section of the hospital, and he was worried that if Brayden didn't calm down, he'd blow off his head. He wanted to calm him down, but at the same time he didn't want to miss the doctor. The longer Brayden screamed, the worse he felt about his son being terrorized by seeing his mother pass out from anxiety and panic. He knew Brayden was stressed about his family and wouldn't calm down until he at least saw his dad.
"Ma'am, my son sounds like he's going to lose a lung if he doesn't see me. Can I bring him back here for two seconds-"
"Mr. Knight, he's at the age where he doesn't have the immune system to handle all the different diseases in the ICU. You can either go there or wait," she sighed for the eighth time.
"I'm... Ugh, I don't want to miss the doctor. He's gonna scream if she's not released tonight. He's terrified because he saw her fall and he doesn't know how else to express fear besides screaming," Preston explained as the nurse nodded.
"I'm aware, I have a two year old at home. But, even if it were okay, no one can go in her room."
"Can I at least hold him?"
"No sir. You can either go out there or wait," she answered again as Preston ran a hand through his hair. "Just know we close in ten minutes. If you're in this room before then, you'll be placed in a room. If you're not, I'm sorry."
Preston looked up at the clock, then looked back at the door. He knew if he saw Brayden, he wouldn't let go, but he at least had to get him to calm down. He opened the door, deciding that nine minutes would just have to be enough.
"Mom, I'm about to open the door. Watch out," Preston warned Carrie as she took a step back and he opened it carefully. "Come here, baby..."
"Daddy!" Brayden screeched as he reached for his dad and Preston held him in his arms.
"You're so red. Mom, can you grab a bottle for him in his diaper bag? Your mama would kill me if she knew I was giving you a bottle," Preston chuckled as he bounced his son, attempting to get him to breathe. "Look, Bray! Look what nanna has."
"Bot bot?"
"Is that your bot bot?" Preston cooed again as his son reached for the bottle, putting it in his mouth. "Daddy has to go, okay? Mommy needs me."
"No!" Brayden screeched, forgetting all about his bottle.
"Baby, just go with nanna and I'll pick you up tomorrow, okay?" he sighed as Brayden clutched his neck. "Please, Bray? I gotta go."
"Mr. Knight," the nurse called as he turned around with Brayden in his arms.
"Yes ma'am?"
The nurse didn't reply. She sighed and looked behind her before looking back at Preston and his son. They were almost twins aside from their skin color.
"The doctor is here for you... Go ahead and bring him in," she shook her head at the adorable two.
"Really?!" he gasped as she nodded her head.
