The Morning AfterPreston rolled over with the biggest smile on his face as he looked down at his wife. His heart pounded so fast as he watched her sleep. He couldn't believe he did it. All his life he had dreamed of that exact moment where he would wake up next to her and see that she had married him. And she did. His heart started thudding again, and he lifted his hand to see the gold band on his left ring finger. He was a married man. Finally.
Preston continued to watch his newly wedded bride sleep and snapped a few pictures on his phone. No one besides the people at their wedding knew they were married yet, and he couldn't tell them either until the end of the Games. That was the one thing Preston didn't think through in addition to the fact that they couldn't go on their honeymoon for four days. They were stuck in Tokyo until the closing ceremony, but once they did leave, Preston had planned the perfect honeymoon. Kayla had no clue, but they would be spending eight days and nine nights at an ocean bungalow in Bora Bora.
Just as Preston thought about how beautiful their honeymoon would be, her eyes rolled open and his entire world stopped. He couldn't breathe. She was that stunning.
"Good morning, baby," she whispered as she moved closer. He didn't say anything. "Pres?"
"Y-yeah?" He replied, clearing his throat.
"Good morning," she repeated.
"I'm such a dork," Preston mumbled to himself as Kayla giggled.
"I'm trying to cuddle with you," she smirked as he took a deep breath.
"R-right, I just... That... Your face kinda— have you ever thought about sandwiches? Sandwiches are good, you know—"
"Preston?"
"Yes?"
"Stop talking and come hold me," Kayla said, pulling him close to her as he took a deep breath. He always tried to play Mr. Cool and Suave, but Kayla knew that he was just as much of a dork as he said he was.
"I'm-I'm sorry. I was watching you sleep and thinking about last night, and I just... Yeah," he huffed as his arms finally held his wife like they wanted to.
"Yesterday was... The only word I can think of is incredible. And you, sir, with that surprise," Kayla smirked as she looked up at him.
"I couldn't wait another month to marry you. I had to otherwise I was going to die. Besides, that took a little away from the stress of everything. I don't wanna think about the rec center, your firm or your non-profit, or anything else. I just wanna look at you and obviously make dumb comments about sandwiches because you're so damn beautiful," he grunted as she giggled.
"You're looking pretty handsome right now too. Which brings me to my next point..." she trailed as she moved to straddle him. "I didn't want to cuddle. Well, I always do, but I would much rather sit here for a little bit."
"Oh, okay... You are naked. Wow. You're naked. Oh, okay," Preston shrugged as Kayla lifted her eyebrow.
"Oh? That's what your reply is, oh?"
"Well you said... Oh! Oh, baby, I thought you really just wanted to sit there. But now I know you wanna do other things. That's great because I've had a boner for about ten minutes and you're naked—"
"Are you nervous, Preston Knight?" she smiled teasingly as he shifted his eyes from her face all the way down her body.
"I-I'm sorry, I just want everything to be perfect but I'm stressing about you and being a good husband. I'm sorry," he apologized again as she giggled.
