You sat within the beautiful walls of Wayne Manor, the home you see or hear about all the time, the place that meant so much to the Wayne family, Gotham's prized family. But you never thought in a million years that a girl like you, an orphaned young lady, would be invited here by the one and only Bruce Wayne. So here you sat, folding your hands several times over while you waited for Bruce to come into the room, a smiling Alfred sending you a warm, little smile, making you feel tons better actually. He's a nice, caring man you could tell.
"It's really okay love. Relax some. Master Bruce wouldn't want you to be so nervous." Suddenly, Bruce walked into the room and your heart seemed to stop as he sent Alfred a little look, but smiled, warmly at him as Alfred grinned at him, walking away somewhere into the big home. Bruce looked at you upon sitting down, sending you a little smile as you smiled back, trying to remain calm.
"Hello (Y/N). I know you're probably curious as to why I asked you here. But, my parents were good friends with yours. And I heard about what happened to your parents in the paper this morning. I know we don't know each other too well. But I feel like.... you shouldn't be alone out there." You looked at him wide eyed upon hearing his words spoken, taken by surprise at his kindness. No one has ever been so nice to you before. He's actually offering for you to stay here....?
But your thoughts turned sad as you saw the looks of terror on your parents face as they were struck down, just a mere day after the poor Wayne's. Apparently since they were such good friends through work, whoever killed them thought killing your parents would be an added bonus. So ever since then, you've been on your own. About two months now you've been out there, just trying to make it in the gloom city of Gotham.
Then one day, a big, black beautiful car pulled aside and out stepped Alfred, the man you've only met one time but easily remembered, pulling you aside to tell you that Master Bruce would like for you to come to Wayne Manor. So you did. And somehow, this might be okay.
"Bruce..... That's such a big favor though. How could I ever repay you...? I mean, being out on the streets is so terrible though. Fear nags at me day and night, wondering if I'll be killed next...." Bruce looked at you with an unknown look as he sighed a little, a look of sadness washing over his face.
"I really do understand. I'm learning to conquer fear myself. I can't let my fears eat at me. All i want to do is make sure that no more innocent people are killed. And my first person, is you...." You looked at him with tears in your eyes as you slowly rose from your seat, before you just ran over to him and hugged your arms around him tightly, your tears softly falling.
All the while, Bruce was surprised by your sudden movement, before he hugged you as well, the both of you just comforting one another. But he's right. Conquering your fears is something that could help you in the end. Yes, it's so very hard to do so when you feel lost or trapped by these fears. But someday, you'll show these people that always try to knock you down because of it, that you've taken your fears and threw them away, never to be seen again. And that, is when you can finally say, I've done it....
