Wayne Enterprises has been your home for so long. You adored Martha and Thomas as a child and loved Bruce with all your heart. They were your second family. So, it was only fitting to work here, seeing their brilliant ideas come to life every day. But the main reason you finally did decide to work here? Was Xander Wilde. He was your best friend and mentor. He was incredibly smart, loving and had a heart of gold. He was accomplishing everything he had dreamed of. But life wasn't always easy for him. He wasn't always Xander Wilde. And you were one of only a few people who knew this.
"Hello there gorgeous. Would you happen to know if one Xander Wilde is here?" You looked up with a smile on your lips, until you saw who was standing in front of you and about panicked. He had finally found him. He knew. And he was here to do God knows what to Xander. You instantly pushed the panic button you and Xander had decided on getting for one another, in the off chance of something bad happening. And well, this was certainly one of those times.
"No.... he's not here." He knew you were lying. He could tell just by the look in your eyes. And he was enjoying it. He knew you were scared. But also, a little intrigued. You had never met Jerome personally. But you've seen him all over Gotham with his antics filling the papers day in and day out. People ate it up, considering this town is nothing but twisted fun for the whole family.
"Oh, you don't have to lie to me. I'm your friendly neighborhood funny guy! I just wanted to tell him some jokes, get him to laugh. Uncontrollably..." His little smirk sent you on edge, before you bolted from your seat at your desk, but to no avail. He still grabbed you up and pulled you back to him, putting a knife to you instantly in warning.
"Now gorgeous, let's start over, shall we? Where is my brother dearest?" His soft but yet, terrifying tone whispered in your ear, sent shivers down your spine. He had you right where he wanted you. And you had no idea just how much he knew about you. He knew you were really close with Jeremiah. Even with a name change and everything, he still managed to find him.
"Jerome! Let her go." Your eyes widened from the sight of Jeremiah, knowing full well he would come for you, even though you had hoped he would leave so Jerome couldn't find him. All the work over the years was gone today. It was over.
"There he is! Hello brother. Long time so see huh? Miss me?" His laughter filled your ears, causing you to flinch from the mere sound and the feel of his knife pressed into your cheek, causing blood to trickle down your face.
"Jerome...." You could hear the clear anger in Jeremiah's voice, his eyes boring into Jerome's with so much hatred. And you were stuck in the middle.

"Your sweet, little girlfriend here tried so hard to protect you. You've trained her well." You glared from his comment, feeling his arms tighten around you, practically clutching your sides. Before you finally stomped on his foot with your heel so hard that he yelled in frustration. But his laughter still echoed out.
"Feisty. I like that." He smirked at you with a wink, when you ran to Jeremiah and grabbed onto him, running with him to get him away from whatever Jerome had planned for him. It wouldn't be anything good. And you didn't want it to happen. Just for the moment, he wouldn't find him, hiding him away from the inevitable chaos that was soon to unfold.
