"Okay okay okay! Gertrude, does everything look okay...? I just want him to like it..." You looked around at everything with a frantic look as you ran here there and everywhere, before Gertrude stopped you mid step, laughing as she finally got you to smile and not panic for once today.
You just wanted to surprise Oswald with a good, little birthday party. So you've been going nuts all day. You went as far as having him leave with Gertrude for a while so he wouldn't see anything. You just wanted to set everything up as quick as possible because you didn't want him to think you had forgotten.
"Dear, everything is perfect. Oswald will love it. And more so since it came from you." You sighed a breath of relief as you sent Gertrude a thankful look, making her softly smile at you as she patted your shoulder.
"Mother! I'm home and I..." Your eyes widened as you heard Oswald's voice ring out through the room, looking at Gertrude as he came into view, his eyes going wide with surprise as his gaze looked from the cake, to the presents, and then to you, his eyes seeming to water.
"(Y/N)...? What's this...?" You grinned a little as you walked towards him, softly grabbing his hands in yours as you hugged him, his arms instantly wrapping around you in a tight embrace.
