My mind went racing on lots of different thoughts. My family had done lots of terrible things, but this is going to mess my whole life up. I can't take it anymore.
The Sheryl Detective woman stared at me with question in her eyes.
"Sweetie, are you okay? You look like you might faint." she worryingly got up and put her hand on my forehead.
"You're burning up. Are you sick?"
I put my head in my hands as a terrible headache started, and I felt as if I were going to vomit.
"No-"
"Honey, I'm getting someone who can help you. I can't question you when you're like this." She rushed out of the room trying to remain calm, but it obviously didn't work.
The pain was awful in my head and now stomach, my vision got blurry and black on the edges. I wish I could just pass out so I wouldn't have to deal with this pain.
The Detective walked back in with another woman that looked similar to Sheryl, just much shorter. She quickly walked over to me.
"What's the matter?"
"My head, my stomach...."
That was the last I could remember.I woke up in an ambulance with a man seated at my left. What could he possibly be doing? He must of not noticed I was awake and stuck a needle in my arm.
"Hey! That really hurt sir." I said with a childish tone.
"Why did you do it?"
The man looked at me with surprise and said nothing. I wanted to freak out, but when I moved my stomach pain would just grow and grow, same happened with my head, I passed out once more.
I woke up in a hospital some time later. I had no clue what happened but I wasn't in much pain anymore, just a slight headache. Why would they keep me here?
I put my head up and looked around. No one was here. Of course, my family couldn't be here anyways. I looked around and saw an IV and a feeding tube in my arm. A feeding tube? I am so confused. I looked for a red nurse call button. There had to be one around here.
I looked out the door and saw a nurse catch my eye, she instantly walked in.
"Hi Roseanne, how are you feeling?"
"Rose," I instantly corrected her.
"Okay, Rose, How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine, why am I still here? Why is there a feeding tube in my arm? What is going on with my family? Did I miss my morning classes? I must have, What's today's date?" I felt a tear roll down my cheek.
"Rose calm down. Everything is fine-"
"No it's not!!" Several more tears rolled down my cheeks, I tried to hold them back.
"Um.. I'll go get the doctor," she nervously walked out of the room.
I wiped away my tears. This wasn't that bad. People had much much worse. Why was I even complaining? Ugh, I'm so selfish.
A tall, thin man walked in with a clipboard and pen in his hands. He had glasses on with piercing light blue eyes. His hair was turning gray but was dark brown in most areas. He came and pulled a chair by my hospital bed. This can't be good news.
"Roseanne, I'm Dr. Mitchell Johnson. The nurse said that you are very confused, I will happily explain."
"I'm very confused. I'm in no pain so why can't I leave?"
"Well it's not that simple. You had food poisoning. Also, we gave you a feeding tube because you very dehydrated and had little food in your body. The food poisoning caused your stomach pains and fever. You got a large migraine during interrogation, and headaches are common when people are overwhelmed..."
"Food poisoning?"
"Yes, it seems you have been slowly drugged over a long period of time."
"Wait wait wait. Someone did this to me?"
"That's what we are researching now. We believe it was intentionally done."
"You think my family did it, don't you?"
"Yes."
"I can't believe this. I'm never eating again."
"That's common. But I assure you we can get you eating normally again-"
"That's enough! I don't want to hear this. I need time alone, take this feeding tube out of me!" I took the tube and ripped it out of my skin. I had to bite my lip so I wouldn't scream. I didn't know it would hurt that bad.
"Roseanne! Hang on I'm getting a nurse to put that back in."
"No!"
The doctor ran out and quickly pulled in a nurse to deal with me. I let her put that disgusting tube back inside me and I fell asleep. I was so tired.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
