By Friday morning I didn't get any news from any nurse or doctor, so I just went in with my normal day to day things, I attended class, came back and tried to eat lunch, did a bunch of studying and homework, then I was just hanging around the room and cleaning up, when I got a migraine, great, I've been doing so well. I took some meds and sat down on my bed, turning off all the lights. I swear I sat there for 30 mins and still had a consistent pain in my head, I didn't know what to do so I just took another pill, and waited it out. Derek was out with some friends so I had the room all to myself. Finally the migraine subsided, and I turned on the lights and saw the same woman doctor from the meeting come through the door. She was professional, always dressed in her white coat with a plain black shirt underneath, dress pants and black pumps, with her hair neatly put down with her curly blonde hair. She wore light makeup and a pretty smile that made her seem like the nicest person, but what she was about to tell me probably would make me hate her forever. Well, hate is a strong word, I would probably just say 'highly dislike' for now.
"Hello Rose," she spoke calmly, as if she were to tell me something unfortunate.
"Um hi, I'm sorry I don't think you mentioned your name.."
"Of course! I'm Doctor Anne, I'm here to talk to you about some steps you should take to getting yourself healthy again," she said with a fake warm smile.
"Right, what are my options?" I spoke nervously.
"Well, we aren't exactly sure at the moment, we are just taking it step by step for now. This is pretty unusual but we believe it would be the best for you and for your health. We definitely are going to get you a counselor and you can pick a class here you can take to meet some friends here so you're not just with Derek," she took a deep breath, "I hope you know that you have a very bad case of anorexia nervosa, since you have had a trauma that makes you not eat. Most cases the patient dislikes their body and weight so they decide to eat little and it leads them to places like this," she sighs, "but you really need to push through this, you are a very smart and bright girl, you got this." She said and got up and walked out of the door without another word.
Was it actually just a trauma?
I sighed heavily and walked back and walked back and plopped on my bed. I easily fell into the world of sleep. I desperately needed it.
