I got home later that day with a pile of papers and a empty suitcase. I walked in my room and realized, I was going to need another suitcase. I sat on the edge on bed and checked my phone. 1 new message.Hey Rosie! I wanted to know how your appointment went! Hope all went well. Call me when you are finished.
-Maddy xoxI simply replied to her text.
Come over in 10.
I sat on my bed and threw my phone on my nightstand. I took some of my homework from class and started completing it. I heard my phone buzz and I went to look at it. It was Maddy.
Ok.. I'm bringing some fast food over, want anything?
Nope, not hungry.
******
I heard footsteps coming to my room. I instantly got up and opened the door just as Maddy was walking in. She looked at me and gave me a small smile. She knew something was wrong. She went over to my bed and plopped down on it with the 2 McDonald's bags she was carrying.
"What did you bring?" I asked, trying to make conversation, "I'm guessing you used your key?"
"3 large fries, Big Mac, 2 cheeseburgers, and 2 apple pies." She said as she was looking in the bags. She looked up and said, "Of course."
"Oh! And I forgot the drinks in my car, be right back," she spoke as she was running out of the room. She quickly stopped and turned around and faced me.
"Forgot something?" I said while shaking the keys in the air. She jumped up to get them but I quickly moved them out of reach.
I laughed, "What do you need something?"
"Don't be so oblivious! Give me my keys!"
"Okay, fine," I threw the keys out in the hallway. Maddy ran and picked them up and gave me a disgusted look. She laughed and went to her car.
I walked back in my room and took out the large fry. I ate one, and oh my gosh I forgot how much I love these! My stomach finally realized how hungry I was and I kept munching on these fries until Maddy walked in. She held two drinks and gave one to me.
"I didn't even want anything!" I said while taking a sip of my pink lemonade, she knows I don't like soda.
"I know you too well to not get you anything." She said with a wink.
"Ugh."
"So, I have a feeling something important happened that you need to tell me?" She spoke as she was pulling out a Big Mac.
"Erm, yeah I guess.." I ate some more fries and took a sip of my drink. She raised an eyebrow at me urging me to continue.
"Rosie, spill."
I did just that. I told her everything. About anorexia, my family, moving into a care unit, my weight, and anything else that has happened over the last couple of weeks. When I finished, a tear rolled down my cheek, I'm normally a very strong girl, this would definitely change me.
Maddy sat and listened to everything without a word. Her eyes spoke to me and were wanting to help, there was sadness, but there was relief. When I finished, I let out a sigh and got up and got my suitcase.
"Can you help me pack-"
Before I could finish she ran up to me and gave me a huge hug. I hugged her back and I let go.
"Well," Maddy spoke, "I have a feeling this is going to be a long night of packing."
