"The most difficult part of dating is the initial invitation."

                                                                                                                                 - Janell L. Carroll

John pulled up smoothly in his black ford truck, with the silver glazed rims and seemingly fresh paint shining under the streetlight by the street of Emily's house. He rolled down his window and greeted her with a respectful head nod, Emily heard the doors click to unlock. She settled herself in the front seat, his car smelled like fresh squeezed lemons, he looked over at her with a nervous smile. This can't be your first date stop grinning like an idiot. Emily smiled back. I've got to stop being so mentally visuous. He was so happy to see her.

Almost like a kid in a candy shop. Emily just wished she was as elated. She didn't say much in the car to him on there way. Even though he tried many times to engage in small talk. They pulled up in the tight parking lot of the pizzeria, when they sat and started to have forced date-like conversation she tried to avoid the topic of exs, but he slid it in. Jake was the only guy she had seriously dated. She hesitated, she didn't go in depth explaining him. She said simply that they led different lives, leaving it as vague as possible.

Jake talked about being the star player of the basketball team, how gruelling practice can be, and how he hadn't had much time for much else, but he said he had to make time for Emily. Why put importance on me - why? she almost cringed. She tried to act flattered. Waving her hand at him with a fake blush type smile.

She couldn't deny John's good conversational skills though, he was an easy person to talk too. She knew also that he was a decent guy, but she wasn't ready for him - and he definitely wasn't ready for her. She considered tonight with him a 'Playdate.' If anything. After the pizza Emily gently wiped her face with a napkin.

"Let's uh..take a walk? Yeah?" She nodded, slowly getting out of her seat, then pulling john out of his seat leaving the pizzeria. Past the parking lot too the park across the street. "They are gonna think we are skipping out on the check." He chuckled following Emily closely.

"Wait, are we doing that?" John asked seriously. He adjusted his dress shirt, he had on a white collared one tucked into nice jeans.

"No." Emily laughed.

It was dark outside and the streetlights by the children's park were broken, it was around 8:30. Emily flashed John a devilish smile before ducking behind some bushes.

"There's definitely a bathroom in the pizzeria." John laughed.

"Ha - very funny." She smirked

"What are we doing back here?" John ducked down to and laughed lightly with surprise at his discovery. Emily inhaled deeply and blew outward steadily, leaving a cloud of smoke covering John's face. "Wasn't expecting this for a first date." John said surprised.

"That's how I love my men - spurized." She rose an eyebrow, urging him to take the blunt.

"Ahh no thanks." He smirked nervously.

"Oh come on just take a hit it's the good stuff." She said playfully.

"It's been years." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"John." Emily laughed girlishly.

"Emily." John laughed.

"John.." Emily smiled leaning in, their noses touching, John softly grunted and stood up.

"Can't smoke - just not my thing anymore."

"Just one little one." She said like a little girl, batting her eyes at him. Dancing the blunt in front of his eyes. He sighed looking around quickly and grabbed the blunt, taking a long hit. She squealed with delight.

"Good boy." She bit her lip touching his arm.

"Is this what a normal date consists of to you?" he laughed.

Emily smiled but said nothing pulling him closer, running her hands through his light textured black hair, she started to kiss him, taking him over, biting his bottom lip as she immersed herself in his lips. Rubbing his chest and slowly kissing down his neck, making her way up to nibbling on his ear. He simmered, baked.

His body warmed as tingles of excitement passed through his body with every explicit hand movement she made. "Wow." He gulped cupping her face. "Y-you're a good kisser." He smirked. "I'm good at a lot of other things too." She winked. Turing the date playful and fun set the mood for a whole different type of relationship.
