"The more you care the more you have to lose."
- Harry Potter
Ashton sat at his usual lunch table with his friend Amber. Texting on his phone to the several different girls he planned to sleep with through the week. He had on a white button up and tight fitting blue jeans. He swung his leg under the table casually and hit Amber's knees with his black rock band boots. She flung up her middle finger at him, while he pleaded to her that it was just an accident. Ah Amber He thought.
The bitch was crazy, but he loved her, a long time friend. She leaned over to lay on his strong shoulder, the smell of apples and cinnamon protruded from her hair. She leaned in a little more to peek at his phone.
Ashton noticed and mushed her off his shoulder. Amber and Ashton were never an item as long as they've known each other. Even though that was the case Amber still found herself getting jealous if he talked to, texted, or was around females. Amber felt she could tell him anything and he'd just listen, and he had traits of a quality boyfriend, but both of them have commitment issues.
Amber could sleep with Ashton, then another guy and Ashton wouldn't bat and eyelash. The two had never mutually connected on an emotional level. They'd been close since freshman year, and now we're finally seniors. The only connection come to think of it that Ashton has made with Amber - was fingering her on the school bus when he got the chance.
They were the ultimate friends with benefits. Nothing more, nothing less. Amber was easy to get a hold of that way. It didn't take much for her to slide her panties to the side for anyone. Ashton though didn't judge her for the path of life she decided to take, he was still her friend. Her friend that occasionally wanted to hook up with her every other weekend - but, still her friend. Ashton had sex with lots of girls, relationships not being his speciality.
Amber had hopes that maybe one day he'd be willing to settle down - but at the rate he was going it didn't seem to be happening any time soon. They always had each other's backs when major problems arose. Amber never pushed Ashton to date her because she already knew what he'd say. Amber playfully pulled his ear and giggled. "Stop." He said pushing her hand away. "Ashtonnn." She sung to annoy him. "quit it Amber." He smirked not looking up from his phone screen.
