Wide Awake

I lay in bed that night wide awake staring at an empty text box under a certain someone's name. This was the way I'd spent the last 3 nights since we'd gotten back. 
I was still putting off talking to Scott
I was still avoiding Derek at all costs.
I was also still too afraid to type three simple letters.
I'd been doing this each night, staying awake for hours on end, unable to choose what to check off my to do list first.
I drew in a deep breath before allowing my finger to hover over the keyboard.
Im done procrastinating. I'm done being afraid.
I then typed 3 little letters in response to a 3 day old text message.
H-e-y
I even threw in a smily face - because I'm fucking cute like that - before standing up and throwing on some decent clothing.
I'm done procrastinating. I'm done being afraid.

I walked to the window I knew lead to Scott's room and tapped quietly on the windowpane, my heart already racing.
Finally he opened his window to let me in and I entered, making sure his door was shut before flipping on the light.
"Scott I need to ask you something." I told him.
"Are you asking me out because I already have Alliso-"
"Don't be an idiot." I interrupted.
I crossed my arms across my chest and sighed heavily.
"You can turn me into a full werewolf can't you?" I asked. His face completely drained of color.
"Kelsey-"
"No, don't Kelsey me. I want the truth." I said.
He looked down.
"You can can't you?" I asked in disbelief. I chucked sarcastically and slapped my hands against my thighs, already done with this conversation. I started to leave when he held on to my arm.
"Its possible, but it's also extremely dangerous." Scott said. I rolled my eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me? I think I'm entitled to know that!" I responded angrily.
He sighed heavily before sitting down on his bed.
"Derek convinced me not to." He told me.
"Of course it was his idea." I mumbled rolling my eyes.
"He told me that if I told you, you would want me to try to turn you. And that's something I'm not gonna risk." He said looking up at me with those trustworthy eyes. That was the thing with Scott, that's why I joined his pack, he always did what he thought was right and he always put everyone else before himself. That's why I couldn't decide if I wanted to punch him in the face right now, or try to understand.
"How do you do it?" I asked, uncrossing my arms. He looked up at me, clearly torn.
"I- I just-" he stopped himself and focused his eyes on the ground.
"How do you do it." I asked again.
"It takes a bite from 2 alphas at the same time." He told me guiltily.
"But once you're bitten again you're body is even more likely to reject the bite, which means you could die." He added, returning to his feet. I shook my head in disbelief.
"You two let me suffer for an entire year and did nothing. I would have gladly risked death to end it all. Either way I would be put out if my misery. But you just sat there and watched." I said shaking my head. My heart was racing and I was trying hard to control my anger.
"I'm sorry." Scott pleaded.
I stood up and headed for the window,
"Well I'm done." I told him exiting the house.

Barry's Pov:
When her text message came through I was a little surprised, it had been three days since I'd sent her the first message.
Hey :) - k
I smiled down at my phone before responding
How's Beacon Hills? - B
Her response came hours later, around 3 in the morning actually.
Are you at star labs? - K
No, I'm at home, why?" - B
What's your address? - K
I stared down suspiciously, she wasn't normally like this. I gave her my address and she didn't respond so I went back to sleep.

A knock on the door later surprisingly revealed Kelsey.
"I'm sorry about this, I just, I can't stay in Beacon Hills anymore." She told me worriedly. She was slightly out of breath and it looked to me like she'd walked here.
I rubbed the sides of her arms and pulled her inside.

A/N Okay so I noticed A LOT more people have started reading this since my last update so I've decided to post this really small (probably really bad) chapter. I love you guys 💕

Also, if any of y'all have been wondering where I've been, it's here. I've just been so busy writing other stories (I have like 5 in the making) that I've found it hard to come back to this one. But if y'all continue to read this I will continue to write, and my next chapter will definitely have more time and energy put into it.
