There are three steps in becoming the head elder: 1-Battle of the Minds, where you and your twin will be put through several tests that strain your brain to its breaking point, evaluating...
I sit in my chair brushing my dark brown hair over and over again staring at my reflection in the mirror.
My mother stood in the doorway. "Is there anything I can do?" She asked.
"Could you put my hair up like you did a month ago?"
"Of course!" She wiped away a tear and rushed over. She took the brush and started brushing my hair very slowly then burst into tears.
"Oh Alexandra, I love you so much!" She cried.
" I love you too mother." I said, my voice slightly shaking.
She rolled my hair into a braided bun and tied it with a blue ribbon. "To match-sniff-to match your eyes."
I smiled at her sorrowed face. She was about to lose her daughter forever.
"Thank you." I said kissing her on the cheek.
I shut the door behind me. I could hear her sobbing through the door. I rushed to the buggy, got in and didn't look back, not once. A single tear fell down my cheek.

I entered the Great Hall where all the council members meet to watch the battle take place. I walked up and took my place to the left of the Elder's thrown facing me.
I looked over to my right and saw Thanatos. He looked the same as he did before, except now there was a strange tattoo peeking out from underneath his shirt on the back of his neck.
I strained to get a better look but father interrupted me by saying, "The Trials of True Strength will begin at sunrise next morning. You may seek council from one, and only one, council member. You may choose now."
I looked to Thanatos but he did not look to me. He stood tall and spoke boldly, "I choose Robert, council of war and destruction."
The young councilman stood and took Thanatos by the shoulder and walked him away.
The councilmen looked to me now, staring quietly, awaiting my choice. I straightened up and spoke without a wavering word. "I choose Gaius, chief council member and council advisor."
Gaius Rose and led me away from the Great Hall. "You chose wisely my child." He said. I nodded my head in agreement.
He stopped me and grabbed my arm and looked straight into my eyes. "But so did Thanatos and for that we must prepare nonstop for tomorrow."
I never realized how easy it was for typos to suddenly appear out of nowhere...
I hope this was a little better than the others. The next one will be a lot longer and more exciting!
I originally wrote this on Word on my laptop so I'm slowly having to make changes so it will look good on this.
I also never figured out where to start and stop the chapters so I'm also working on that, slowly.
Anywhooo...now that that's all said and done...
This is what Robert looks like btw:
