Have you ever noticed how hard it is to wake up when you know the day is going to end terribly?
That's how I feel now. As I lay in the comfort of my bed, memories surge through my brain endlessly.
~flashback~
"Happy birthday Alexa!" Shouted Thanatos as he ran up to my bed.
I smile as he jumps on my bed in an attempt to wake me up. "Happy birthday Thanatos." I mumble into the covers.
"Guess how old we are!" He asks as he effortlessly drags me out of bed. 'Stupid combat training.' I think.
I shrug my shoulders feigning confusion. "Three?" I ask and he drops me on the floor.
"Ow! Hey!" I shout rubbing my now sore back.
"We're ten stupid." He says as he helps me back up and turns around for me to hop on his back.
"I know that, stupid." I mutter as I pinch his cheeks.
He swats at my hands and races out of the room and down the stairs. As we rush into the kitchen, we can smell the large chocolate cake being made.
"Hiya twins!" Shouts Daniel, one of the Ramsay family cooks.
"Hello Daniel! Got any breakfast for my little sister?" Asks Thanatos as he gently sets me on the ground.
"Little. Ha!" I mutter crossing my arms. "Only by a few minutes."
"Yessir Thanatos! It's on over in tha dining hall." Daniel says over his shoulder as he begins to ice the cake.
"Thank you Daniel. I'll be sure that Papa gives you a raise!" Says Thanatos as he grabs my hand and starts to pull me to the connecting door to the dining room.
"Thank ya sir! You're tha nicest boy-excuse me-young man that I've ever had the pleasure to know." Daniel calls out as we walk over to the giant table.
After we finish breakfast we decide to take a walk down to the river to play.
"Head Elder! Head Elder! Someone stole my candy!" I shouted as I ran up to Thanatos who had climbed into a small tree.
"How dare the evil person!" He exclaims in the deepest voice he could muster as he jumps down from the tree.
"He took it and I asked for it back but he said no!" I cried into his chest. 'Stupid tall people.'
"Well let's find the thief! He must be punished!" He shouted as we ran over to the kid who was currently munching on my candy.
"That is my sister's candy you are eating, is it not?" Thanatos asks the older boy.
The boy shrugs and takes another bite of my delicious candy. "Not anymore." He mumbles through a mouthful.
"Do you know who we are?" Shouts Thanatos, completely dropping the game we were playing when he realized it was serious.
"Should I really care?" Asks the kid as he stands up and glares down at me and my brother.
That got Thanatos fuming and be shoved the older boy in the chest.
