michael for dorrith 💎 @AllTimeBlink-5sos

"Dorrith, I'm going to have to come down there sooner or later. You're wedding is in how long? Three months? I need to help you pick out the dresses!" My mom persisted.

I sighed inwardly, one thing about my mom- she drank like it was nobody's buisness. I invited her over for dinner once and she drank at least three bottles of my best wine.

"I'm already stressed, mom. The house is small as it is, I don't need more people staying here." I rubbed my forehead, thinking of more excuses for her not to stay here. I heard the front door open and close, signaling Michael was here.

I heard her sigh on the other end. "Fine." And the line was dead.

"Mikey, please explain why every time my mom calls we end up fighting and she hangs up on me, extremely pissed off." I groaned, wrapping my arms around his waist as he kissed my forehead.

"Give it time, baby. Why don't you guys go out for breakfast tomorrow? My treat."

"Why don't you come?" I asked. "My mom will be civil if you're there."

"We'll see," he replied.

"Where are the guys?" I asked, realizing they didn't come back with him.

"They stayed behind to get ice cream after shopping for our Suits, and I wanted to see my baby. But they'll be here in about thirty minutes." He said.

I nodded, and jumped when my phone vibrated.

ashton🤓: hey d, you want ice cream?
dorrith💎: yes pls!! you know what i like
ashton🤓: k i gotchu bff

I smiled to the realization that Ashton was like a dad to me; he always took care of me. I was friends with him way before me and Michael got together.

"Baby, you're freezing. How about I go run us a bath, and we can look over the guest list; see if we missed anyone?"

I hadn't noticed I was shivering.

I nodded, and grabbed the hot chocolate mix we had in the pantry and quickly made some. I grabbed both mugs and brought them up to our bathroom. I set them on the counter and quickly undressed. I grabbed my mug and sat in the bath, waiting for Michael so we could go over the list.

He came into the bathroom, a look of confusion wiped across his face.

"What's up, love?" I asked, concerned.

"We missed the most important part of the wedding, Dorrith. Who's going to walk you down the aisle?"

It dawned on me, I didn't have a dad. He died in a plane crash when I was fairly young.

"I- I don't know. I never really," I paused at the thought. "I didn't think about it."

Michael sat in the bath with me, "Do you want my dad to walk you?"

"No," I replied my voice wavering as I tried to hold in my tears. "I don't know him as well."

"Maybe Ash can walk you?" He proposed.

I sighed, thinking about it. He's always been like a dad to me, and he's always so sweet and quick to say yes to things, maybe he would.

I nodded, as Mike wiped away a tear that had come out.

"It's okay to cry, baby. Remember that." He told me as he held me close.

I let out a quiet sob, murmuring, "I don't think about it often, you know? So when I do, it hurts a lot."

"It's okay, love. It's okay to not be okay."

Ashton opened our bathroom door abruptly, and Mike let out an irritated sigh.

"Here's your ice cream, love." Ashton handed me my ice cream.

"You both know I'm not okay with this; barging in while we're both butt naked in the bath tub, and you being okay with it, Dorrith." Michael told us.

"I've known Ash since birth, Mike. Our parents would even shower us together. Honestly my mom is surprised that me and you are getting married and not Ash and I, but I convinced her you were the one."

"Wait, D, are you crying?" Ashton, asked, taking a close look at my face.

"I need someone to walk me down the aisle, because my dad..." I told him and his features changed and be automatically understood. "and I was thinking maybe you could?"

Ashton's face lit up and he grinned, agreeing that he'd do it.

"Thanks, Ash." I replied eating a spoonful of my ice cream. "I'll hug you when I'm not.. naked."

Michael reached toward my spoon trying to take some, but I slapped his hand.

"Love you, D," Ashton replied, and I blew him a kiss, watching as he left the bathroom.

Michael whined, "Sharing is caring,"

"Mikey, this is my ice cream let me enjoy it." I pouted.

He rolled his eyes and got out of the tub, wrapping a towel around himself.

"Someone's salty,"' I called out, watching as he stuck his tongue out at me and left the room with his hot (probably warm now), chocolate.
