The day I look at my brothers as if they were normal, would be the day I die. And I'll tell you why.
When I got home from school, my brothers were all in p'jays and basically doing nothing. I went upstairs and got into the shower before changing into my own pajamas and doing my homework.
I was listening to music in my room, Ride by SoMo to be exact, when all four of them rushed in with cleaning supplies. Brandon with a mop, the twins with dusters, and then Kyle with a broom. The twins started singing the lyrics to the song into the dusters, off key by the way, Kyle was playing the guitar which was the broom, and then Brandon started making out with the mop.
I was laughing so hard I nearly fell off my bed, but during the last part, I pushed them all out of the way and turned the music off, before singing the whole song by myself, and using the mop as a microphone pole. I started singing like no one was watching, walking around as if I was on a giant stage, like it was my passion.
All four of them clapped and scooted down, so I was in the middle. Falling back, simultaneously, we all stared at my ceiling, not really caring that we were all in our pajamas and random cleaning supplies all around the bed. Laughing we all look at each other, smiling like idiots. "Is there a reason you all decided to interrupt my favorite song?"
"We just wanted to have fun," Brandon says, and instead of poking my nose like a normal brother, he pokes one of my lip rings.
"And we wanted to hang out with our baby sis," James said, and instead of poking my cheek like a normal brother, he flicks my ear.
"And your just so fun to be around," said Jack, and instead of poking my side like a normal brother, he smacks my four head.
"But mostly, we jus love you," said the wisest and oldest of them all, Kyle, and instead of poking-nah he's the normal one, he poked my stomach.
"What's the catch?"
"There's no catch," the twins say in unison.
"Yeah, right! Last time you guys did something like this, you broke my favorite piggy bank, and stole four dollars out of it!"
"There's no catch," the twins say in unison again, this time a little nervous. Getting up I glare at all four of them, making each one cough awkwardly.
"Did y'all break somethin'?" I ask, my country accent coming on strong. They snicker at it, but other than that they don't say anything. "Imma' ask y'all' one more time. Did you break somethin' of mine?"
"No." Kyle says. He gets up and walks to me, giving me a hug. I was confused, but I hugged back anyways, feeling safe in his arms like I always do. "This is our last year with you, before you head off to college, and we...we just wanted to keep having fun while it lasted."
"You guys..." I whisper, my eyes filling with tears. "I'd never forget you, y'all know that. And there's these things called cellphones, and they're for people who are to far away, so you can still talk to them, you dorks!"
The other three get up and run over to me, getting in the hug, squishing me in the middle in the process, then Brandon said the thing I'm trying to say but can't talk. "Guys, do you think she can breath?"
They all look down at the small, little girl in the middle of them, before saying in unison, "Nah!"
"I...hate...y-y'all" I wheeze out before they run away laughing. I take a few deep breaths before chasing them down the stairs and into the living room in nothing but my fuzzy booty shorts and a tank top, but stop short when all three are huddled around the front door. "Who is it?" I ask, walking up.
