Shreeek... shreeek... Camila awoke from her slumber, in the darkness, hearing four bells ring from the grandfather clock.

Shreeek... shreeek... the noise sounded like it was coming from the end of her bed and it sounded like it was being created by nails scratching against wood. Camila switched her bed side lamp on, moving her eyes around the room frantically as her breaths became short and heavy.

Shreeek... shreeek... Camila jumped up from her blanket covered bed looking around at the end of her bed.

No one was there however, she did notice deep scratch marks in the wooden bed frame. Before she could do anything, she felt a strong force pin her up against wall bringing along a rough wind with it. The creature placed it's hand around Camila's neck tightly letting only hits of air into Camila's lungs. The grip around Camila's stopped her from being able to move her head by the slightest so she couldn't even see her attacker. She felt the thing place it's lips against Camila's neck whipping shivers down her spine. The creature hissed quietly as Camila felt their sharp, dagger-like teeth hover above her sensitive skin. The grip tightened when the beast got extremely frustrated by it's weakness. Camila was positive she heard the creature mumble something like why can't I do this? Showing it's feminine voice. Camila was partly shocked it was a female, not to be stereotypical. Camila coughed not being to handle this long without properly breathing. The monster dropped her on to the floor and rushing off with it's wind whirl exit. Camila laid on the floor, her vision being complete blurred and her head felling like it was spinning crazily. Her head pounding painfully and being extremely lightheaded, before passing out on the floor.

Camila woke up the next morning tucked up in her bed. Last night was a complete blur and she couldn't believe how realistic her nightmare was. However, that all changed once Camila left her bed and glanced at herself in mirror seeing a bruise around neck. Why didn't she just leave this house already? Why was she so in denial about the spooky things that were happening in her house?

Camila shook herself from her thoughts that had been haunting her. She stripped off her pyjamas swapping them with her outfit for the day. She decided she'd be more productive, so she wore her denim shorts and a baggy, ripped shirt that exposed lots of her skin. She slid down the stairs planting on her wellies and having an apple before entering the garden. The towering, moss covered, stone walls cut off her garden from the rest of the area.  A small rotten shed, that looked like it was about to fall apart, occupied the corner of the backyard and there was circular pond taking up some of the grassy area. The grass was so dead that it seemed wrong to even call it grass. Camila's eyes analysed the whole garden and everything seemed broke, dead or over grown. She unlocked the shed and took out gardening tools not actually knowing how to use any of the items. She picked a large, sharp pair of cutters as she dragged it to the over grown bushes that hadn't had any attention in years and started trimming.

She had spent adleast 2 and a half hours tidying up the garden. Camila was going to plant flowers but needed to go to town for that, so she'd have to wait. She removed the gardening gloves she had put on and packed away all the tools into the shed.

Camila perked her head once she heard whimpering near her and she ventured slowly around the garden trying to find the source of the crying. She opened her backyard door where in front of her feet was a stray dog. Camila gasped loudly as she picked the poor animal up in her arms and immediately took the dog in. Camila always had a soft heart and animals had a big spot in her heart. She wrapped the dog in a dish washer towel, once settling it onto the kitchen counter, as it was shaking from the harsh weather for a dog that didn't have much fur. Camila swiped a pack of sliced ham from the cool fridge and broke the food into bite size pieces. The dog gobbled the food whilst Camila filled a bowel up with tap water and the dog drank up most of the water. She then filled the sink up with warm water and bathed the shivering dog in the sink. She then dried the dog off and checked it's fur for fleas, which miraculously the dog didn't have any.

Camila took one of the boxes, she has used for storing all her items in when moving here, from under the stairs and cut out a hole inside. She laid the box with cushions and blankets and placed the temporary bed in the floor along with the dog. The untamed animal rolled around in its new bed curling up into a ball finding a comfy position.

"I guess you're mine now." Camila smiled joyfully kneeling down letting the dog and checking for its gender, he was a bog. "Miracle. You're going to be called miracle since it's a miracle you're alive."

Soft snores exited the dogs mouth; he had already fell asleep. Camila smiled stupidly at the Miracle's cuteness as she picked up his box gently and carrying him upstairs, placing him delicately on the floor in her room. Camila felt more safe with Miracle's presence in the house, even though she knew a dog wasn't going to be much help with protecting her.

She sighed sitting down at her dresser staring into her mirror at her reflection. She picked up her red lipstick smothering the colour of her pouting lips and rubbed her lower and top lips together spreading the lipstick out. A gush of wind flooded the room and before Camila could do anything she felt the grip around her neck again, the creature stood behind her this time. She kept her head still conforming to the creatures power and not attempting to resist. She felt the presences breath on her right ear feeling the grip tighten around her neck. Camila looked in the mirror but all she could see was a pair of mesmerising, emerald eyes.

"You need to leave this house." Growled the monster down Camila's ear creating goosebumps crawling over her skin and this time she could defiantly hear the creature's feminine voice.

"Why?" She swallowed hard, Camila's back shivering feeling the creature's body press up against mine. Camila heard Miracle starting to bark from behind her as the monster hissed loudly at him making him whimper quietly.

"I seen you reading those newspaper articles the other week, surely you don't want to end up like them." She scoffed caressing her long nails against Camila's throat feeling more cold chills emit off her.

"Why haven't you killed me already then?" Camila questioned the beast making her get more annoyed by Camila's smart ass answers and this is when Camila felt the strong grip worsen around her aching neck.

"Just leave, by tomorrow." The creature said finally and dashed out of Camila's room before she could even blink, releasing her from the horrible grip.

Camila felt light headed again from the lack of oxygen and she looked in the mirror watching the bruise turn to a deeper shade of purple. She moved her neck side to side and yelped at the shooting pain that shot to her neck by the little movements.

She swirled around picking up Miracle and cradling him in her arms safely calming down his cries.

"What are we going to do?" Camila tutted to the scared dog pulling her covers back with one hand and crawling into the freezing bed.
