Mission Creek High....Third POV:
Bree and Adam walk over to Adam's locker. "Check out what I've done with my locker!" Adam opens his locker to reveal a jungle of junk, "Tah-dah!" He sings and explains, "Here's where I keep my books. Down here I keep random strands of hair I've collected to make fake mustaches." He grabs the random strands of hair and puts them under his nose like a mustache, "And here is where I stockpile old lunches, or, as I like to call it, my tum-tum yum-yums."
Leo walks over to them holding something. Bree asks, "Hey, Leo. What's that?"
Leo holds it up, "My progress report. I can't believe my science teacher says I'm always late to class."
Adam responds, "Well, you are always late to class."
"I know that, but I don't need it publicized." Leo retorts.
Chase runs over, "Look at this! An 'A-minus'!" Adam gets out his report card from his locker and Chase continues, "I knew my Home Ec teacher had it out for me. Always criticizing my muffins."
Adam holds up his report card, "Ha ha! I beat you! I got a 'D-plus'! 'Plus' because I'm better!" Adam grins.
Bree corrects, "Adam, the 'plus' is--" she cuts herself off and says mostly to herself, "You know what? It's just not even worth it anymore."
"'D' is not a good grade, but we don't really expect you to get good grades." Chase says to Adam before he complains, "I'm engineered to be the smartest person on the planet, and I just got an 'A-minus.' I've been relegated to into the huddled, unwashed masses of minuses, like you!"
Chase walks over and sits down on a bench and Bree and Leo follow while Adam is playing with his locker. Janet walks over to them and Bree tells Chase, "Chase, I know this must be hard for you, but, I mean, look at the bright side-- seeing you fall flat on your face is really fun for us!" Bree sits next to him.
Leo nods in agreement while Janet stands there confused, "What are you guys talking about?"
Chase opens his mouth to answer, but Leo cuts him off, "Chase is upset because he got an A minus."
Janet sits on the other side of Chase while he says, "I have got to find a way to reclaim my superiority."
"Well, you could sign up for the Student of the Semester competition." Leo offers.
Chase perks up, "What's that?"
Adam walks back over to them while Janet answers for Leo, "Every semester, kids compete to see who can best improve the school. Whoever gets the most votes wins free pencils, a bumper sticker, and a cheesy picture of themselves on the wall." Janet points over to the wall where there is a girl making a weird face.
"And that cheesy picture will show everyone that my brilliance reigns supreme! I am so gonna win!" Chase stands up, excited.
Adam jumps up and down, "I call your free pencils! No, wait, I'll take the cheesy picture. Oh gosh, they both sound so good!"
The bell rings and Adam and Chase look at each other and saying in unison, "Race ya!" They run off to class.
Janet's POV:
After Adam and Chase ran off to class, I turned back to Leo and Bree. "Well, I'll see you guys later. Brian is gonna walk me to class." I point over to Brian, who is leaning against the lockers, looking down at his hands. I walk over to him and pull on his arm, "C'mon! You don't wanna be late, do you?"
He stopped me, "Janet, we need to talk."
My face immediately dropped and I gave my full attention to him. "What is it?" I put my hand on his arm.
