Chapter Nine: Bionic Birthday Fail

Janet's POV:

It's been almost a week since I found out Adam, Bree, and Chase's secret. Tomorrow is Leo's birthday. We haven't talked since I found out, but I just needed time for all of it to sink in and to calm down. I've forgiven them already, I just haven't had the guts to waltz into their house like nothing happened. Especially since they haven't seen me in a week.

I've done my best to avoid Douglas all I can. The other day, he pulled me to the side and he was angry.

~Flashback~

I smiled at the customer and they smiled back before sitting down in a booth. The door to The Hideout opened and I looked and saw Douglas walking in with an angry look on his face. He glared at me when he saw me and motioned for me to come towards him. I obeyed, but only because he threatened Aunt Kathy and Leo that one day.

When I went over to him, he grabbed my arm roughly and pulled me to a secluded area of The Hideout. "It's almost been a week! I need something on Adam, Bree, and Chase and I need it now! Remember, I have your aunt wrapped around my finger and I could get rid of her like that." He snaps his fingers.

I look down, "I'm sorry, I'll have something by tomorrow." When I look back up at him I give him a stern, cold, death glare, "You will not touch my aunt."

I step to walk away, but he grabs my arms and whispers in my ear, "Times ticking." With that, he leaves The Hideout, leaving me standing there.

~Flashback ended~

I've decided what I need to do. I have to go to the Davenports and let them know that I've forgiven them. And learn more about their bionics, maybe some other stuff they may be hiding as well. I hate to have to do this, but it's the only way. Aunt Kathy is all I have left and Leo is my best friend. I would give my life for them.

Davenport household.....

Third POV:

Bree does a few flips in the virtual world and looks around before looking at Adam and Chase, "Guys, I have a bad feeling. Let's get out of here."

Suddenly, two rebels come out of the shadows and on both sides of Bree. Bree superspeeds away from them. The two rebels see Chase and Adam and they get in fighting stance.

Chase charges toward them, doing a few flips and starts to fight them. Chase ducks under one of the rebel's leg as they try to kick him. Chase pushes the rebel towards Adam, so that Adam will start fighting with him and help. Adam fights the rebel and Chase puts the Rebel Leader's arms behind his back and pushes him towards Adam. Adam tosses the Rebel Leader and all you hear is, "Aaaaahh!"

Bree superspeeds back over to Chase and Adam as they fist bump. They all smile and there is a bright flash. Adam, Bree, and Chase are all standing on the mission simulator with goggles. The three bionic kids take their goggles off. Mr. Davenport speaks up from behind them, "Adam, that was the Rebel Leader. The whole purpose of today's mission simulation was to interrogate him."

Adam answers, "I did, and his answer was, 'Aaaaah!'" Adam flails his arms around, copying the rebel leader.

All three of them hop off the mission simulator and Bree speaks up, "Hey, next time could you maybe throw in a cute, blue-eyed rebel?" Mr. Davenport looks at her and she defends, "What? I'm just sayin'. It's not gonna kill you to add a little somethin'-somethin' for the ladies."

Leo pushes past Adam and Chase, "Step aside, amateurs." Leo grabs the goggles and steps onto the mission simulator. "Go ahead, Big D. Set it to 'awesome.'" Leo grins and puts his hands on his hips.
