Beth called her parents while I called the detective and filled him in. He put out a BOLO and got a warrant for her arrest. They added armed and dangerous cause in fact she was. She changed her appearance but Beth knew her well. Both had the same hazel eyes and dark hair but Lisa dyed and cut it shorter. Beth was jumpy and cried a lot so I hired more bodyguards. Mitch stayed in the house cause Beth begged him to. The guards kept checking the property constantly for any problems.
"she okay?",Mitch asked looking at Beth as she stared out our big bay windows. She stood staring at the trees sway from the wind and I hoped this shit would stop she could lose her mind over it. Beth was a mess thanks to Nicki her crazy boyfriend and now Looney tunes sister Lisa. She cried more and barely slept. Her mom called me everyday cause Beth refused to answer her phone.
"God I hope so bro she is a mess",I say looking over at Beth as she sighs sadly. Walking up to her I pull her to me and get angry when she jerks at my touch.
"I'm sorry Nick I didn't mean to",she says in a raspy voice. I kiss her lips and hug her tight to me. Scooping her up I carry her to the kitchen and sit her on the counter. I dished out a bowl of ice cream and start feeding it to her. She sighs and takes it.
"thanks Nick I was craving this",she said taking a bite of it. I smiled and put the stuff away. Mitch walked in and smiled at us. He hugged Beth and they talked while I cleaned up the mess I made.
"so sis how is my niece?"
"good but wanting ice cream constantly. I swear I eat more dairy now then in my whole entire life growing up. The smell of eggs me sick and that sucks cause I love eggs",she pouts making him laugh.
"well a couple more months and we meet this beauty. Then you can eat all the eggs you want",he said chuckling at her sour face. She ate her ice cream while he sat talking with her. She seems relaxed but we could tell she was barely holding on. She still jumped at loud noises and acted scared if something fell and made a noise.
"Mitch",she said gaining his attention.
"yes sis",he said looking at her.
"you can't die you have to be careful I know its your job but please be careful I can't lose more family",she whimpers before pushing her bowl of ice cream away. Tears were running down her face as he quickly looked at me before hugging her.
I winced at her little sob and nodded a yes for Mitch to hug her. She clutched his shirt and cried in his chest.
"I will be careful sis your the sister I always wanted and as your brother I have to be here to bother you. Now please stop crying",he begs. She hugs him tight and he sits with her in his lap.
He slowly rubs her back as she cries. After awhile she settles down and he eases away. I take her and sit with her in my lap. I trace circles on her rounder belly and massage her back. She sighs and leans into me. Soon her breathing goes slower and she falls asleep.
"she is out bro",Mitch said chuckling at her sleeping against me. I kiss her head and stand but I don't take her up to bed I carry her to the huge couch. I lay her down and crawl in it beside her. She snuggles closer and stays asleep. Mitch goes to check the perimeter while I lay holding my wife.
As I close my eyes my cell dings.
Opening it I cuss as a notification for a message appears.
So Nicky boy how is my sister. Tell her we need to talk and in case you don't know I'm the sister to Beth. My name is Lisa and I left after trying to kill her. She needs to call me cause we got unfinished business to discuss.
I swear a blue streak and get up. Heading to the kitchen I call the detective and forward the message. He calls me and we talk for awhile before I go back to Beth. She snuggles up to me but thankfully stays asleep. I gently rub her round belly and thank God I get to be there for the whole entire pregnancy this time. Beth sleeps on and I get comfortable as Mitch walk back in and nods at me. I drift off holding my wife.
We sleep till my alarm wakes us and we get up to start our day. Beth heads upstairs to shower while I make breakfast. After awhile she comes down and we eat together. After eating I leave her with Mitch and go shower myself.
I hear my cell ding but ignore it and finish my shower. After drying I pull on clothes and pick up my cell which dinged twice while I was washing.
Lisa was the reason my cell went off so I opened the messages.
First one a ten thirty
You need to tell my sister we need to meet or you will be very sorry.
Second message at eleven
Its not nice to ignore people Nickie poo tell my sister I am coming and this time I will kill her.
Cussing I send them to the cop before hurrying downstairs to find my wife. She is eating again and I chuckle as she tries to get Mitch to eat her pickle and peanut butter sandwich. He gags as she munches away. Sitting down beside my wife I sigh before pulling out my cell to show her the messages from Lisa.
"baby I need you to stay calm cause I received some messages from Lisa. One last night and two this morning. The detective got them and is actively searching for her right now. I want you to remain calm",I sat watching tears fall as she reads the messages.
Mitch sits on the other side and grips her shoulder. She shudders before crying more. Her next words make me mad and scared at the same time.
"I need to meet her its the only way to stop her",she says looking at me.
