The book was Sight to See by Riva Renne. I hadn’t read that book yet. So, I was sending my thank you to the wind to their mom. She’s sweet even though we hadn’t met yet.

I saw him walking in his room, with the headphones still on his ears. I wondered what type of music did he like.

Tomorrow, I would really approach him already. His sister’s nice and sweet. I didn’t have any siblings which was sad because I wanted to have one. But mom died last year and it’s only my dad I was living with.

Maybe I didn’t have to wait for tomorrow, you know. I opened my window and called out.

“Jace!” It was a whisper-yell. And I think I was embarrassing myself again because he couldn’t hear me. How would he even hear me if there’s a headphone pressed in his ear? “Jace,” I tried again and this time, a little louder than before.

He was bobbing his head as if he were so into the music he's listening to. Then he turned off the light and there was nothing else I could see but darkness inside.

I sighed. I just have to wait until tomorrow, then.
