My greatest failure

I finally collected myself and calmed down, I realized that I was hooked up to several medical machines, I yanked themout of me but as I did I healed almost instantly I thought (no no no!!! this can't be happening) I got out of the bed and almost fell, so I waited then tried again, when I stood up I looked for bite marks (which would be difficult, I have lots of scar's from different animals) from a lycan, or vampire. I thought (none) then I looked for any seals that would change me into a faerie (none) I said "Ok it was just a dream." then with out thinking i smelled something, something sweet, innocent, and familiar. I immediately rushed to the door and broke it down. I dropped to the floor on my knees at the sight in front of me Kate hooked up to a life supporter. I whimpered "No....no.....this...this can't be happening." I cried I brushed my hand across her face and said "I shared my life with you, I promised to protect you, you were my world" my voice went into a whisper "please....please come back." I layed my head down in shame on her bed then I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, and a familiar voice it was Kiro he said "With out guidance changing can be a different animal altogether believe me I know." I replied "Have you ever harmed anyone when you changed." I looked up to him, he said "Yes, for years I locked it away, isolating myself from civilization, I thought of myself as an abomination a crime to nature." I asked "What did you do?" Kiro smiled and said "I searched for answers, traveling around the world in the hope that I would find a cure, instead of a cure I found the pack they taught me to give in accept the animal inside me, when I did it was incredible but no less sorrowful." my eyes started to water when I asked "Will she live?" Kiro smiled and said "She'll live her injuries weren't too severe, she'll be taken off life support in a few hours, she's incredibly strong." he looked at me I asked "What happened?" Kiro sighed and said "After you were injected you, changed into something, something powerful, we couldn't control you, we found you guarding her in the middle of you ranch." I sighed in disbelief and asked "Will she remember?" Kiro's features hardened as he said "Possibly" he turned toward the door then walked back to me leaned close to my ear and whispered "Keep your secret safe, she's all you'll ever have, always protect her and no matter what don't forget this." he walked back to the door leaving Kate and I alone. I thought (I won't let them harm you.Ever.)
