Kate's POV

Nick and I shot a bolt of energy at Desmerak who stumbled back as it hit his shoulder, we heard his thoughts echoing in our heads then Shan showed up behind me again, this time I was prepared. I elbowed her face she caught it, I summmoned two spectral blades they were short transparent knives but sharper then broken glass. Shan laughed and said "Foolish little girl." then drew two of her own blades. I slashed and slashed at Shan forcing her to go on the the defensive until she said "Enough!!!!" and dissappeared into mist then appeared behind me then beside me then in front of me, I could see her I blocked all her blows until I kneed her stomach and put my blade under her chin and sharply pulled it with a loud "Crunch" then I spit ovder her slowly bleeding body "Thats what you get for killing me bitch!!!!" Shan was still slowly crawling still trying to escape. I saw the portal close and hundred of men in black tactical gear appeared around Nick and I. Nick yelled then shifted into that thing that attacked me only this time it had armor golden bronze armor and a figure appeared beside Nick with leather armor and a huge sword swung over his shoulder I nodded and said "Nice to see you Syriac." he looked to me and smiled a cocky grin "A true pleasure my dear." as he readied his sword and stance. We all stood our ground determined to live or in my case keepwhat little time I had in this world. I threw my spectral blades at two guards at the same time Nick leapped onto two other guards and Syriac disappeared into mist and appeard behind several guards cutting them down with his swrod. Nick kept mowing down the shooting men while Syriac lazily hacked and at them and broke their necks looking as if he was growing bored. Syriac smiled then yelled "Enough!!!!" and red mist stared emitting from his finger tips and his eyes grew  a neon blue. The red mist spread and started pulled the armed attackers to the ground where they started chokeing on it. After a few minutes they were all dead or dying Nick turned back into a human and hugged me saying "I thought I lost you forever."a tear escaped and we started crying on eachother until Syriac said "Thats all very touching you two but incase you've noticed you both still have whats left of the council after you and a swarm of incredibly dangerous immortals."  I nodded then said "You know why I'm here don't you Syriac?" he nodded then said "Tell him he deserves to know." looking toward Nick who had a confused expression on his face. "Tell me what?" Nick asked Syriac sheathed his sword and said "She's gonna be your teacher as am I." I nodded again and said "There's a lot depending on you Nick everything was in balance but now your the one piece that could tip the scale in anyone's favor your special." Syriac scoffed and said "A freak of nature is more like it." Nick said "I can still kick your ass Syriac." Syriac smiled and said "Just try." I yelled "Stop both of you!!!" and stood between then "we need to find somewhere safe for Nick to train." I looked toward Syriac who said "I might know a few places we could train him." with a cocky smile.
