Blair's P.O.V
The journey is my home. The journey certainly is not my home, and thank god it isn't. The journey at this moment in time was so boring.
We had been driving in silence for the past hour, the only noise was the music on the radio. The only thing that had been said was 'cheer up love, you might have fun' , but I ignored him which led to this long silence. I wasn't really in the mood to talk, I needed a bit of time to think.
"So, what's the plan?" I asked, speaking for the first time. Klaus looked relieved that I finally spoke and replied,
"Well, right now we are on our way to Washington D.C to find a.. Friend of mine." Klaus told me and my eyes widened.
"Washington?!" I exclaimed in surprise and he nodded.
"Yes. Have you ever been before?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Nope. I've always lived in California, before I came here." I replied.
"Boring." He muttered and I rolled my eyes.
"Anyway, remind me again what this road trip is all about." I said.
"Well basically, I completed the ritual to become a hybrid, and that worked. I am a hybrid now. However there is a slight problem, I can't create more hybrids. I figured that out before my road trip with Stefan ended."
"Wait so you weren't born a hybrid?" I asked him.
"Nope." He replied and I looked at him expectantly.
"Well? Aren't you going to explain?" I asked and he raised his eyebrow.
"Why do you want to know?" He asked.
"If I'm going to help you find a way to make hybrids I need to know the whole backstory!" I exclaimed and he sighed.
"Fine. So, after our younger brother Henrik died after being mauled by werewolves, our mother and Mikael turned us all into vampires because she was afraid of us dying. However because I am part werewolf, i was more powerful so my mother decided to suppress my werewolf side. How lovely of her." He explained.
"So, for thousands of years I looked for a way to break the curse; I looking for the three key 'ingredients' that I needed- a werewolf - easy to find, a vampire - easy to find or create, and a petrova doppelgänger- difficult to find." He continued and my eyes widened. Elena.
"So, 500 years ago came along Katerina Petrova.." My eyes widened more. Katherine.
"I was preparing to use her in the sacrifice on the night of the full moon, until she went and killed herself."
"She killed herself?!" I asked in shock.
"Yep. She had vampire blood in her system and hung herself from the ceiling. So, that ruined my chance to break the curse and I had to wait another 500 years before the lovely Elena Gilbert came along. So, on the night of the full moon, I killed a werewolf named Jules, I killed Elena's aunt Jenna who I had previously turned into a vampire, and I killed Elena. And that is how I became the invincible hybrid." He explained and I noticed his smirk when he said invincible.
"So that's why everybody hates you." I exclaimed and he smirked.
"But Elena is still alive." I stated confused.
"I know. Looks like they took precautions so that they didn't lose their precious doppelgänger." He shrugged.
"Well don't you think that's why you can't make hybrids? Because the curse isn't fully complete- because she's alive." I suggested. If I was Elena I would really be worrying about my safety.
