Blair's P.O.V

Caroline and I were sat in a booth in the grill catching up.

"It's just so annoying. He finally broke the sire bond, but he still has to act like Klaus's little bitch because if Klaus found out he broke it... he would kill him." She ranted about how Tyler still had to pretend he was sired to Klaus.

"Maybe Klaus will understand. Maybe you can all sit down and have a civilised conversation and nobody has to be killed." I suggested, eating a mouthful of my ice cream sundae. Caroline stared at me blankly, as if I was speaking another language.

"This is Klaus that we are talking about." She said slowly.

"Yes. The same Klaus that invited you to the ball, that sent you a dress and a bracelet, that sketched a beautiful photo of you stood beside a horse. The sooner you realise that Klaus is not the complete monster you all make him out to be... the better." I explained and she stayed quiet, glaring at me and stealing some of my ice cream and I smirked.

"Speaking of Klaus and Tyler... Tyler told me that you asked him to compel Riley to leave your birthday party." Caroline commented, raising her eyebrow. Oh shoot, I forgot about that.

"Oh yeah, I did." I shrugged it off nonchalantly.

"Why? I thought you guys were friends?" She asked. Good question Caroline. Why did I do that? I couldn't come up with an answer myself.

"She was just being rude that night. I think she was just too drunk... I didn't want to babysit her on my own birthday." I lied. That wasn't the truth because although she was drunk she wasn't too drunk where she had to leave. So what was my reasoning behind making her leave? I shrugged it off, deciding it was best not to think about it.

"Blair, there you are! I've been looking everywhere for you. Hi Caroline." A voice announced, and I turned to see Carol Lockwood looking stressed.

"Hey Mrs Lockwood." Me and Caroline chimed.

"Why have you been looking for me?" I asked curiously.

"I need a huge favour! It's a disaster! Miss mystic falls is next week and one of the girls have dropped out, will you please please take their spot?" She pleaded and I stared at her incredulously.

"You want me to take part in a beauty pageant?" I asked slowly. Surely she was not being serious.

"Please! It will be such a big help, it's been forever since we've had a Salvatore running! You're one of the founding families, you're the right age... you're the perfect candidate! I can't think of anyone else." She begged.

"She would love to." Caroline beamed and I snapped my head towards her.

"Caroline!" I hissed, before turning back to the mayor.

"Can I think about it?" I asked her and she hesitated.

"Okay, but let me know as soon as possible!" She said before hurrying off, and Caroline grabbed my arm excitedly.

"You have got to do it oh my god! You will definitely win, they haven't had a Salvatore run in ages. Well... technically Damon took part when he danced with Elena... but it wasn't him running for miss mystic falls! Oh my gosh you have to do it! I am the reigning miss mystic falls so if you win I will be the one that gets to crown you! It's perfect!" Caroline rambled on and on excitedly and I rested my elbows on the table, covering my ears with my hands.

"Stop." I groaned and she smirked.

"Only if you say you'll do it." She threatened and I sighed, shoving a spoonful of ice cream into my mouth whilst I thought about it. A beauty pageant.. I've never liked the idea of them. Putting yourself out there to be gawked at and for everybody to judge you, it just seems so outdated.
