11:45 pm

"Its almost New Years!" Jazmyn yells, running through the house.

"I'm guessing she gets excited for every holiday." I say.

"Yeah. You'll get used to it." Justin replies.

"Everyone outside!" Pattie says.

We get off the couch and walk to the backyard.

"New Years is the best holiday ever." Jazmyn says.

"I thought it was Christmas."

"That was before New Years came. Duh." Austin brings fireworks outside and starts setting them up.

Jaxon walks up to Justin with his favorite blanket and puts his arms up.

"Jax, you're 6 years old. Use your words."

"Justin, it's almost 12 am. There are no words to use. Pick him up." I say.

He sighs and takes Jaxon off the ground.

"You spoil these kids, Ariana." He says.

"You're the one who picked him up." I giggle and he rolls his eyes.

11:59 pm

"30 seconds." Comes from the radio.

"20 seconds."

"15 seconds. And in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year!" We join him for the countdown and Austin lights the fireworks.

Justin spins me around to face him and puts his lips on mine, surprising me. I pull away after at least 10 seconds and giggle.

"Happy New Year, baby girl."

"Happy New Year, Justin. I love you."

"Love you too."

"Happy New Year, Happy New Year, Happy New Year! Its January 1st, January 1st." Jazmyn sings, running around the yard.

Jaxon, on the other hand, keeps his head on Justin's shoulder, fast asleep.

"Happy New Year, Ariana! Happy New Year, Justin!" Jazmyn comes to hug us both then runs away.

I hear the doorbell rings in the house so me and Justin go to answer it. Standing in the doorway is Chris and Royalty Brown.

"Oh hey. What can I do for you?" Justin says.

"First off, Happy New Year. Second, we wanted to know if you could stop by my house for a few minutes. I'm throwing a New Years party."

"Us? At your house? Of course."

"Yay! Party." Royalty says, smiling.

"I'm surprised to see her awake this late." I say.

"Yeah, she's a little ball of energy tonight. So you're coming?"

"Sure. Let me just go tell my mom."

"Actually, they can come too. I'll wait here." He says.

We walk to the backyard and Pattie comes over to us.

"Who's at the door?"

"Chris Brown. He invited us to his New Years party. Do you wanna go?"

"Did you say Chris Brown? Is he with Royalty?" Jazmyn says.

I nod and she squeals.

"Yes, we wanna go! She's co cute!"

"I guess we'll go then. Come on." Austin takes Jaxon from Justin and we walk back to the front of the house.
