Chapter 7

             At English, I sat next to Damen and a girl. Now, this girl might look really rude, but she’s a sweetie. Black hair, dark blue eyes. Her name’s Kataline, Kat for short. “Class ” Mr, Jensen called. Everyone turned their attention to his annoying face. He turned to me. “Welcome back, Miss Montie,” he said. “I hope you get better soon.” A chorus of ‘get better’s went around the room. I smiled, lookign at my desk, a red blush on my face. “Thanks,” I said quietly. 

              “Now, for the project,” he said. Oh, crap  I totally forgot about that  “Sine Isabella is back, we can continue,” he said. “I have the outline for your essay on your person. You have to follow it if you want a good grade.” I glanced at Damen to see his huge smile. It made me want to smile, so I did. “Dame,” I said. “Why are you smiling?” He turned to look at me. Then he got this adorable confused look on his face. “Oh, nothing really,” he said, in a faux British accent. “Just that I know you forgot.” I blushed. “Um, yeah,” I said slowly.

            He gave me a heat-warming smile and turned back to Mr. Jensen. “Ooh, girl,” Kataline said. “He’s got it bad.” I looked over at her. “Who’s got what bad?” I asked stupidly. She nodded her head in Damen’s direction. “Love,” she said with a grimace. “A disease I hope to never catch.” I laughed. “Well, Kat, I think you will one day,” I said with a wink. She growled and turned back to Mr. Jensen.

            He laid a paper down on my desk. I picked it up and stared at it for a few seconds. ... Is he serious? These questions are really personal. Here look:

11. Is your partner in love? If so, write who. Don’t worry, I won’t tell.

12. Do you like who you were partnered with?

13. If you do, write why. If you don’t, explain.

14. Write anything else you observed from you partner. Don’t be shy. The more you write, the more points you get. 

This is an activity for you to listen to detail and pay attention. It also helps you make a new friend. If you have any questions, please, don’t hesitate to ask me.

            A few gasps went around the room. I was one of them. I have to ask Damen if he’s in love? What if it’s not me? Ooh, that would suck. I glanced at Kataline. She was wiggling her eyebrows at me, making me blush. 

                I turned to look over at Damen. He was blushing. Who does he love? Is it someone I know? Someone embarrassing? What if it’s Priscilla? That would be really sad. I mean, it’s not like I love Damen, or anything it’s just.. That would be weird. Damen and Priscilla.. Ew.
