chapter 13- The Truth

Let me tell y'all about all this bullshit going on. Janet called me last night crying about the whole situation with her dad and the pregnancy. One thing she said really stuck to me. Her and her mom got into a really bad fight,and now she's moving with her dad to Los Angeles. It's still in the same state as Inglewood but that means a different school and a lot of distance between us. I tried to convince her to stay but she already had her stubborn ass mind made up. She said she's gonna go to school next week but this will be her last week. I even thought about telling her that I knew about the abortion but she was so devastated so I kept it to myself. I don't know how she's still going about her life so calmly. If I was put in half the situations she has,i would've been went crazy.

"Baby,what are you thinking about, you're staring pretty hard." I forgot I was supposed to be massaging Toni's feet.

"Nothing babe,just really worried about Jay. I can't believe she's really gonna leave us like that, especially Amaru."

"Well,if you're gonna talk about me why not say it to my face and as for Amaru, fuck him." Janet was standing at the door,i didn't even hear or see her ass come in.

"Shut up Jay,and sit down so we can talk" Toni patted a space next to her.

Janet scrunched up her face looking at us. "I'm good, I don't know what y'all been doing on this bed,nasty asses. And what is there to talk about,it better not be your cousin. I came over here to hang out with y'all since I'm leaving tomorrow not talking about insensitive assholes who like to lead people on,get them pregnant and break their heart." Me and Toni looked at each other than looked at Jay and busted out laughing.
"What the fuck is so funny?"

"You,we know you still love him,and he still loves you. Y'all both just two typical teenagers. Your hearts are trying to find each while your minds are pulling you apart." They both looked at me weird,guess they didn't know I was so wise.

"Whatever, if he loved me he would show it. He hasn't tried to speak to me,he doesn't even look at me in school and whenever I'm here he hides out in his room. I know you guys told him I'm moving yet he hasn't sent me a text,a call or tried convincing me to stay. Fuck him"

As much as she tried to sound like she hated him,her face told a different story. But what made this whole thing worse was Amaru standing right behind her listening, I could see the guilt on his face. I waited for him to speak but he just shook his head and walked away. I swear these two make shit complicated for themselves.

"Janet he loves you,do you know how heart broken he was when your mom told him she was aborting y'all baby."

Toni! Why can't you think before you speak,did she really just say that. I looked at Jay's face,she was completely shocked eyes wide and all. Toni finally realized what she said and looked at me for help,that she wasn't gonna get.

"What,please tell me you're lying. There's no way she could've told him because for one, he would've stopped her and two, you guys told me he wasn't there! The both of you told me he didn't step foot in that hospital the whole time I was there." She paused to wipe her eyes. She looked back in forth from me to Toni, it didn't take a rocket scientist to know she was hurt.
" Please,tell me it's not true. You guys wouldn't keep something like that from me"

Neither of us could answer her, knowing it would be a lie if we told her it wasn't true. She could tell by our faces that it was. " YOU KNOW HOW MUCH HE MEANS TO ME, HOW COULD YOU KEEP THAT FROM ME. YOU ALL KNEW,THE WHOLE TIME I WAS DEPRESSED AND CRYING THINKING HE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ME. HE WAS THERE AND ALL THREE OF YOU KNEW ABOUT THE ABORTION!" She caught her breath and stopped yelling.
