"Parker?" Iona was heading in the direction she assumed was correct to lead her to the large oak tree Parker had taken her and the others to once or twice before.

She wandered through the already yellowing trees, early for autumn. There was a cool breeze and Iona was wearing jeans, boots and her grey jumper which was slightly too big and the sleeves covered most of her hands and fingers. She curled her fingers around the end of the sleeves as she walked, very wary of her surroundings.

When she found the Oak tree, which was large enough for even someone with as little navigation skills as Iona to find, there was no one there.

"Parker?" She said again, and as she stepped foward something swung down in front of her face, she leapt back, gasping, too shocked to scream.

There he was, in all his scruffy haired, dark eyed glory, hanging upside down from one of the lower tree branches, Parker and he was grinning, a lot.

"God! One of these days, you will be the cause of the heart attack that kills me!" Iona breathed as Parker jumped down miraculously, landing with a slight wobble which Iona took advantage of, not waiting one second she gave him a big enough push to knock him to the floor.

"I see how it is!" He laughed from the floor, dusting himself off as he got to his feet.

"So why am i here?" Iona asked, still puzzled by the whole ominous situation but she was mistaken if she thought she would ever get a straight answer from the boy. He just grinned and started walking.

"Just thought we could wander, just the two of us- whats that?" He asked, looking at Iona's hand.

"Just the book you found, i dont know why i brought it" Iona answered, suddenly realsing how odd it was that she'd brought the book with her but Parker just shrugged.

"Any good?" He asked as they ambled along, the sunlight streaming through the canopy of trees above them.

"Yes, it's a love story actually i believe" Iona told him, although she wasnt certain because she hadn't read further than chapter 2.

"Go on then" Parker said "read some". Iona watched him in amusement as he waited patiently for her to start reading.

"I thought you said it sounded boring?"

"Yeah well if you like it then i'm sure it couldnt possibly be that boring" he stated and Iona smiled calmly to herself and she opened the book as they walked and began reading.

She kept reading and walking, all the while Parker listened quietly, only commenting on occaison, but to Iona's surprise, nothing rude or inappropriate which she appreciated for once as she was quite enjoying the book.

They had reached a pond of some sort which had a half standing wall around it and Iona stepped on the low brick wall as she read, Parker walking parallel to her on the woodland floor.

Iona continued to read aloud "She searched the house for him, only the echo's of her feet on the marble floors responding to her empty calls. She couldn't find Marco anywhere until she noticed a door that had been left ajar. Inside stood Marco, his slick black hair falling in waves about his head. He took her hands in his as they greeted oneanother..." Just as she read this, Parker took her hand as she jumped off the wall onto the floor again.

She then let his hand go to turn the page, engrossed in the story. "Marco reached behind him secretively and produced a large bouquet of flowers, she- Parker what is it?" She stopped reading, holding her place with one finger she looked up to see Parker holding out a single wildflower which was purple in colour. Iona smiled at him, rolling her eyes.

"Why thank you my good sir" she said politely, taking the flower and placing it in the centre of the current pages she was reading in the book.

Iona continued to read until they reached chapter 4, when Marco's mother discovered his and Silvia's hidden relationship and forbid them from ever meeting again.

"Well this just took a cheery turn!" Parker exhaled, swinging his arms around himself and Iona shut the book, the purple wildflower now between those pages acting as a book mark, the flower poking out the top.

Parker slumped himself down on the floor, leaning against the tree and Iona slowly sat down beside him, placing the book down beside her.

She looked at him and saw the cut from the day before on his head. "Do you think you will get a scar?" Iona asked and Parker shrugged, noticing where her gaze was falling.

"Not likely, it's barely deep...When i was growing up my Dad had this old motorcycle, i always loved it and whenever my mum went out he'd take me to the garden or to the pavement and would teach me how to ride. One day he let me have a go on the side of the road when there were no cars..." Parker paused and laughed slightly but Iona stayed silent, watching his every movement as he spoke, she had never heard anything about his real dad before.

"So i got on this rusty, sky blue bike with tempremental handle bars and peeling paint. I was so excited that i forgot all the things my old man had taught me and i went speeding down that hill, went crashing into a post then span into a wall!" Parker stated and Iona couldnt help her jaw dropping as she imagined it. "That's how i got this" he said, pulling his collar away to show all of his right shoulder and part of the arm, where a large, white scar stretched accross his skin. "My first scar" he said, his words so soft that Iona knew that no matter how much pain he accociated with that memory, he linked it more with love.

"That was one of the reasons my Mum got so mad with him, she thought he was irresponsible, they broke up a year later..." Parker didnt sound sad in the way he spoke but Iona still felt sorry so instead of speaking she lay her head on his shoulder and they sat in silence for a long time.

They began heading back towards the old Oak and Iona was reading again as Parker walked right by her side listening. "She ran into the garden, it was the dead of night and she went to the blossom tree and waited, just as she and Marco had planned, they wished to run away. It wasnt long before Marco was running into her arms and- dammit! The next paragraph is completely water damaged i can't make it out" Iona huffed, just as they reached the Oak tree again, she held the book down by her side and looked at Parker.

"We can just make it up!" He exclaimed and Iona shut the book, putting it on the floor.

"Okay well go on then!" She said, crossing her arms and leaning against the wide trunk of the Oak, watching Parker think, pacing hyperactively in front of her.

"Okay, Marco was running into her arms and they stood close, huddled under the tree, it was cold, he hated to see Silvia cold" Parker began, stepping right up to Iona, closing most of the space between them and for some reason she shivered slightly. "He whispered to her 'let's go, let's get out of here so we can stay together!" Parker said, bending around and breathing against Iona's neck, whispering in her ear. "Then he pulled away only slightly, and Silvia watched his lips, as he leaned in to..." Parker's voice trailed off as he looked down at Iona who was backed up against the tree, looking up at his face only inches away and he lowered himself, the stars now shining in the ever darkening sky above, they moved closer and closer until their lips touched for the first time.
