After Tatty and Razor had arrived, the four of them went off to the dirt track that Parker was dying to show them! Both Parker and Razor had their bikes but Iona who didnt own a bike, and Tatty who had no desire for getting dirty, were both going empty handed.
"Here it is" Parker cried, bounding up the muddy hill, the others following behind sluggishly to see a very muddy area of hills and slopes.
"Awesome!" Razor breathed, gripping his bike, ready to go, when the revving of motorcycles sounded from behind them.
Three people on, mud splattered motorcycles, came racing up the hill, showering dirt up Iona and Tatty's legs, who were closest to them. Both Tatty and Iona jumped back in disgust and the three riders came to a halt.
Iona glared at them and could have sworn that Parker made a growl like noise.
They all removed their helmets, two guys and a girl. "Oh Iona i didn't get you did I?" The guy in the front snarled, despite looking genuinly sorry.
"Umm, you did actually!" Iona said carefully, staring at the boy on the bike even though she could feel Parker's tense presence beside her.
"What? Don't recognise me?" He said and in that moment Iona knew exactly who he was and her stomach turned. He looked so different.
Iona assumed Parker recognised him too as she heard him swear quietly before saying "Mike!" In an almost venemous voice.
Mike smiled triumphantly, still looking at Iona and she felt riddled with guilt. She couldnt understand why he was here, he was supposed to be at a college out of town.
"Come on Mike, arent you going to introduce us to your little friends...especially that one!" The girl to Mike's right, said with an almost seductive look at Razor. This comment earned a huff from Tatty and Razor looked utterly un affected by the girls comment.
"Would you be quiet Maisy!" The other boy snapped and Maisy shot him an annoyed look before swinging her body off her bike, her boots landing in the mud with a splash and she walked up to Razor, who didnt look so tall next to her. Maisy smiled up at him and flicked her brown hair with a giggle.
"He's so rugged and handsome! Can we keep him!" She squealed and Razor now reacted with a glare, that didnt seem to faze the girl.
Mike sighed and told her to lay off him, she obeyed like his pet and went to sit back on her bike, still winking at Razor occasionally.
"What do you want?" It was, to Iona's surprise, Tatty who had spoken, and she sounded very irritable.
"I was just wondering whether you thought you could actually use this track...on those things!" Mike spat, now glaring at Parker.
Iona turned to Parker who had clenched his fists and looked a level of angry she had only seen from him on a few occasions.
"Want a bet?" Parker hissed, stepping foward. Iona caught his wrist.
"Parker don't"
"Listen to your girlfriend Parky!" Mike said in a whiny voice and Parker's arm felt like stone in her hand.
"Dont you have anything better to do?" Razor interrupted and Maisy turned to look at him with a smile.
"We can get out of here if you'd like!" She said quietly, leaning foward on her bike so she was even closer to Razor.
"Why dont you give me a moment to consider that offer...mmm no!" Razor growled but Maisy only giggled.
"Mike, mines playing hard to get, maybe you should try again with yours!" Maisy pouted, turning to Mike, a sly grin forming on his face as he turned back to Iona.
"Iona did i mention how gorgeous you'd look on my bike? How about you come over here and give it a test ride?" Mike said, patting his seat.
When Iona didn't move, Mike spoke again "well i guess i can just admire you from here-"
"Shut up!" Parker yelled furiously and Iona feared he might run at Mike any moment.
"Oh come on Parky, that's not nice!" Mike exclaimed "you know i will always appreciate her more than you...i forget, who asked her to prom again? Who did she say yes to?"
This seemed to tip Parker over the edge and he charged foward, grabbing Mike and pulling him off his bike. Mike fell to the floor, pulling Parker with him and they tumbled down the hill, punching at each other.
"Parker stop! Mike get off him!" Iona cried, running to the top of the slope to see if Parker was alright.
"Razor do something!" Tatty exclaimed from beside Iona and Razor started sliding down the slope, towards the two boys mid tusstle.
"Oh i do love a brave man!" Came Maisy's voice as she hopped off her bike and watched Razor try to break them up.
Tatty turned to her "i dont think we have formally been introduced, but i guess there is no need as i dont ever wish to see your ugly face again!" Tatty cried before punching Maisy accross her face.
"That was awesome!" Tatty breathed, looking at Iona wide eyed as Maisy stumbled away, towards the other guy who had now jumped off his bike also.
Iona looked down to see that Razor now had Mike's arms pinned behind his back. Iona then ran down the hill to Parker's side, he was wobbly on his feet and covered in mud so it was hard to tell if he was hurt.
"Parker are you alright?" She asked, but Parker had a far off look in his eye so she just dragged him up the hill, grabbed his bike in the other hand and with a nod to Tatty, Iona walked Parker all the way home.
"Im fine!" Parker snapped, making Iona jump slightly but she recovered and gave him an exasperated look. He was not fine!
They were currently in Parker's bathroom, Parker sat on the edge of the bath, shirtless and in boxers, and Iona, knelt down in front of him, gently cleaning up his face of mud and blood. She was thankful in that moment that neither Parker's mum nor step dad were home. They would go mental.
"Okay, hold still this may sting a little" Iona warned him, ignoring Parker's brooding face and tensed body. She moved her dampened cloth up to a slightly deeper gash on his cheek and he winced, groaned and then he shot up onto his feet, almost knocking Iona to the floor. "Parker would you sit down!" Iona moaned, more agitated now.
"Why is he here? God if i see him again...the nerve of that fu-"
"Parker!" Iona cried, standing up also, staring at him fiercely, she just wished he would calm down.
"What? I supposed you enjoyed being drooled all over by Mike!" Parker spat menacingly and Iona took a step back, feeling overly confined in the small bathroom that seemed to be getting smaller.
"Parker that's ridiculous" Iona said as calmly as possible, struggling to keep her voice steady.
"Is it? Then why do you keep defending him?" Parker cried, looking like he had a million things on his mind.
"I wasn't-"
"You were! Dont lie, are you bored of me? Is that it? Do you wish you had gone home with him on Prom night, instead of going alone because of me?" Parker growled, threateningly and Iona remembered running from the school on prom night because of Parker's jealousy. It was like it was happening again, accept Iona was more furious this time!
"Parker you are being an idiot!"
"Oh i am, am i?"
"Yes!"
"Well whatever, i don't need you to clean my wounds like i am a little boy! I have come home looking worse." Parker grumbled, flopping back down onto the edge of his bath, blood trickling down the right hand side of his face.
Iona stared down at him icily. "Fine. Do it yourself!" She snapped, throwing the dirtied cloth at Parker, and with that she walked out of the door, and left.
