sorry i haven't written in awhile. summer has been taking over my life lol but thanks for 9.5K on psychopath y'all. 😊 enjoy this chapter ((:

-

when jay and jin returned back to school, jin was sure to silently protect jay.

jin was still unfamiliar with jay and that included being oblivious to her strong facade.

but nonetheless, jin would watch jay wander about the halls with hannah and would ignore the states she received from her fellow peers due to the yellowish purple bruise that littered on her jaw and eye.

it seemed like an ordinary occurrence.  the way jay casually brushed off the stares made jin frown with displeasure. he couldn't help but wonder how often this occured that she actually was used to this sort of thing.

when it was lunch time, jin quickly rushed to the canteen, yelling at chanyeol that he'd meet him there. jin quickly got in the growing line and and picked out a slice of cheese pizza and a water, grabbing five cookies. he paid for his food and dropped his food off with chanyeol, along with two cookies. chanyeol smiled up at him, thanking jin quickly before jin rushed out of the canteen to wait for jay. when she did appear, she looked like hell.

even more bruises appeared on her face, a swollen and cut lip, too. jin frowned deeply. jay looked up at jin and was taken aback.

"jin, what's up?" jay asked, cramming her hands into her hoodie pocket.

"oh, uhm... here," jin smiled, handing three of his chocolate chip cookies to her.

"wait, these are for me?" jay asked, confused.

"well, yeah. i felt bad for yesterday and how i poked and prodded into your life. i can understand what it's like when you want to keep things to yourself and there's nosy people who can't seem to understand that," jin shrugged.

jay was taken aback... again. she had never heard someone speak so honestly about how they felt to her. people always talked to her with a specific caution due to the constant littered bruises she paraded around in. in this town, everybody knows everybody's business. and that meant people were aware of the incident that occurred five months ago with her parents, and the repetitive incidents that occur with her brother. but the funny thing is, everyone is scared to help jay out because of her brothers history. so nothing gets passed on to the police.

so hearing jin speak so honestly to her, she felt a warm fuzzy sensation in the pit of her stomach that spread throughout her body.

"thank you. seriously, thank you," jay smiled, wrapping her arms around jin's torso, a smile falling onto her lips.

what jay failed to realize was in that moment that simple action made jin like her even more.

sorry this update took 583649649 years. i had written a draft already and planned to update two days ago but something happened to wattpad that i lost the whole chapter and had to start over. i couldn't really remember what i wrote and i lost inspiration to write for a bit.

but i'm back and intend to finish the story within the next day or two. this story will only be fifteen chapters (like psychopath) since this is, in fact, a short story.

ily all and please be patient with the updates. (:

thank you
