jin hadn't expected such a large confession from jay.
her brother? but why? and why does she think she killed her parents?
"jay... i'm so sorry," hannah murmured, her lips pouting as tears welled up into her tear ducts.
"shut it, hannah. you knew i didn't want anyone to know about this! it's bad enough the town has their accusations of me, but the one person who didn't know that i actually had feelings for knows now," jay scoffed. jay looked hurt. betrayed. angry. every emotion that wasn't happiness or synonymous to the word.
she looked like the last chance of hope was ripped from her grip and was dangling at a level she couldn't reach.
"is it so bad that jin knows? maybe he can help!" hannah argued, removing herself from the shield created by the boys.
"you know as well as i do that that can't happen!" jay shouted.
"and why not?!" hannah yelled back.
"because! who wants to a love a murderer?! who wants to love the broken?! who wants to love someone that can't even love themselves?!" jay yelled back, her chest rising and falling quickly due to the amount of anger laced throughout her words.
jin looked bewildered as he stared between the two friends, who's friendship was withering right in front of his eyes.
"is that what you think of me? you think that i would have that low of an opinion of you because of something that wasn't your fault," jin asked, his voice cracking with desperation. he felt offended that jay thought so lowly of jin. he felt hurt that jay thought he was just like these lowlife idiots who turned their backs on the one person who needed help the most.
"it was my fault, jin. don't you see that? and even if your opinion doesn't change, you can't do anything about it," jay chuckled sadistically.
"and why is that?"
"because her brother is a drunk idiot who manipulates people into believing he is powerful. he's the leader of the gang around here," hannah answered.
"fucking hell, hannah! do you want to tell him what bra size i am while you're at it?" jay spat.
"i'm only trying to help! i've watched him beat you for far too long. this ends. now," hannah hissed.
jay shook her head in disbelief, tears falling down her face.
"jay, please look at me," jin murmured. jay refused to meet jin's gaze.
"jay, please."
jay clenched her jaw as she swallowed her pride and looked up at him.
"i could never hate you. even if you stole all the cookies in the cafeteria, i could never hate you. what happened, that night... it wasn't your fault. and i get it... i get what you're going through. why do you think i moved to america?"
"what?" chanyeol, hannah and jay muttered at once.
"my father was killed... and he deserved it... he was a murderer...."
